Nov 22, 2008 13:49

Empire magazine just came out with their top 500 greatest movies of all time, after compiling votes from readers, industry big names and movie critics. It's quite an interesting list and I have made it my new goal to see all 500 of them before I'm 30 (hey that leaves me 5 years, not bad). Here is the list, with the one I have already seen in ( Read more... )

"I have made it my new goal to see all 500 of them before I'm 30"

If I had the same goal that would give me 2 weeks O_O

I strongly suggest you see these: Amores Perros, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Fountain, Atonement, Casino, Caché, Crash (2004), Ratatouille, Rain Man (not for fuck face Tom Cruise but for the brilliant performance of Dustin Hoffman), The Breakfast Club, All About Eve, Fatal Attraction, American History X, A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Virgin Suicides, Ed Wood, The Silence of the Lambs, Stand By Me, GoodFellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Psycho...

I'm sure I skipped a few ;) Jessy I own a lot of these movies that you haven't seen. I know I've said it quite often and never acted on it, I'm sorry for that but we should get together someday soon and have a movie night!

Cmon, they really gave a space to Saw and the horrible new Indiana Jones movie?

They are missing a few great ones ... especially in the foreign film department.
Run Lola Run
Amelie
Tampopo (a must for anybody who likes cooking/food)

just to name a few ...

I noticed the glaring omission of Lola Rennt too.. but it's not their fault, it was voted.

Amélie is in there though.

Haven't seen Tampopo, will look it up :)

Yeah I bought it too... Im doing pretty well, but there's a bunch of those in my "Oh I should really watch those but never do" list.
I love comparing it to a previous Top 100 movies of all time they did in an issue I bought litterally 10 YEARS AGO... A bunch of movies that had just came out were really high on the list, and now they're in the last 400-500...

J'ai The Fountain chez moi et je l'ai jamais vu. J'ai aussi American History X qui me vient en tête.

So you furnish your self, I furnish the drinkage :)
Just say when (I'm off Mon-Wed :D yay! )
