I don't play these games, and I find it fascinating! And it does too have to deal with Hetalia - these games are cementing the perceptions of national stereotypes that we have- they're in the media, right? (I totally find national identities and perceptions thereof to be interesting even without Hetalia)

LOL are you going to use France's ~culture~ to make the British stop fighting?

safe trip and have fun in LA!

Yes, yes! The idea behind Hetalia has always been interesting... ;D

Ahahah...culture indeed! (In one mod I was playing, France had diplomacy boosts with non-European countries. Totally useless because Germany ended up taking Paris while I was busy settling colonies. :/)

Thanks! Now that it's over, it's...it's school again. Grar. D:

Yeah, I haven't played them either, and the articles were really interesting! (I haven't read them all yet either though. XD;)

That's odd you can't make use of France in the Revolutionary War though... :O I mean, they pretty much trained our military. (Prussia too, right? Is awesome-sama in the game?) And you can't use the oceans in the games?? D: Well, they had other strengths too, right? (I saw a stand-up comedian one time who was talking about World History, and when he got to the varying empires, he said that despite England being a tiny nation, they won many of their colonies with the use of contempt. XD)

Haha, exactly! That's why I was annoyed that none of the mods had this point right. There was some point where I was contemplating breaking my alliance with France, because they were just that unhelpful. D: (Although, in that one mod, Prussia showed up and was super useful! ;D)

Oceans can be used, they're just not very ...useful in terms of game strategy because most of the fighting takes place on land far from the sea, and ships can't attack cities (whhhhy). D:

That's really odd. Eh, who knows why they didn't make them as useful? orz At least they got Prussia right though. :D

Ah. That doesn't make too much sense, either, since sea warfare was a large factor in many old wars. D: (Maybe it was too hard to program...?)

Yep it was because it was too hard to program. Unfortunate, because I imagine sea warfare is...so much fun!

(Another game they never got right was Diplomacy, but I guess that's because humans are always more unpredictable than machines. :P)

Usually the most fun-sounding aspects of a game end up being too hard to program. TwT

(Yep! They are~. It's always harder to fight a player-controlled character than a computer-controlled one. ;Db)
