The execution of this fic - taking the idea that oil is a drug, and logically enough then those countries who supply America with oil are drug dealers - is amazing. Chilling, depressing (as above commenters have mentioned) but it works really well.
I would never have made the connection that England was China's opium dealer, and he taught Canada how to be a dealer as well. Now that you bring it up, it makes so much sense, and it works.
And Canada. Poor, poor Canada, but that's just how things happen, isn't it?

I had the idea about oil + drug dealers running around in my mind for a long time, but writing it out was really hard, mainly because I didn't have the heart in me to make Canada go overboard in his evilness. :P I rewrote his role a bajillion times and I'm happy he came off as sympathetic. :)

You definitely have a gift for taking IRL stuff and translating it neatly into Hetalia in a way that actually works!

Hehe, thanks! I really enjoy taking IRL stuff and framing it in terms of Hetalia. I get a lot of inspiration from reading random tidbits of news or Wikipedia, though I tend to veer away from recent news if it's tragic.

The two brothers are definitely too attached to England (who is likely not aware of it himself). Actually, America's over-attachment to England was always in my headcanon, mainly based on how much Americans seem to fawn over British accents/the Beatles/study abroad in the UK (usually England)/etc.
As for Canada's feelings, I was going for both -- he was jealous, angry, and wanted to hurt England to feel better. At the same time I also feel like Canada himself doesn't know exactly what he wants, he's just doing what he does for some temporary happiness. It's almost like a form of Stockholm Syndrome.
And thanks for these long reviews -- they're very appreciated! :)
