Makin' me think

The last post made me think about something. When I write stories and plays, I often feel like they take a lot longer than they do. Like, I'll have written about a character for five pages, and then suddenly it will feel like they've been there for five days instead of the hour that the story actually takes place in. Something I always try doing when I work on a paper. Try re-reading the last paragraph you wrote to set your mind back in the story. Think about your character, think about how she would feel in the situation you put her in. Try to change the mood you are in to fit the mood of the character you are writing about. If you need your character to be happy in a piticular situation, then think about something that make you happy.

Also if you come up with an idea, write it on another piece of paper, and if you start liking the character that you are writing seperatly, then erase the old character and write this one in anew.

I don't write, so I can't really provide you with advice. Maybe I can come up with some sort of creativity advice though, since that's all I ever do nyo ( ... )
