Name: Margaret.
Age: Seventeen.
Your previous stamp(s)/do you agree? (Crawford.) Yeah, I do. I’m probably not as much of a hard-ass, but there are definitely many similarities between us.
What is/was your dream job? I want to do something in linguistics in the future. That’s my main interest. I just love the analysis itself. Plus, I’ve always been good at languages and linguistic concepts.
What is/was your favourite and/or best subject in school? Linguistics, foreign language(s), English, history, logic, sociology, theatre, music. I generally succeed in most areas, but my favorite is linguistics.
What item(s) do you always seem to have with you? My black leather gloves in the colder months (i.e. most of the months here). In the summer, there’s no one item that I always have. Usually I try to wear/carry something that will keep the sun off me, because I get burned very easily.
Favorite book(s), and why? The Silmarillion. The long and woven plot is amusing to follow through to its ultimate end. Everyone receives a little parcel of the doom.
Favorite sport(s), and why? I’ve never cared about sports. But I like archery, if you consider that a sport.
Fight or watch? I don’t really care enough to fight most of the time, but sometimes it’s necessary. If it is something that I really care about, I will fight. I choose my battles and all that.
Think or act? Think. Then act. I refuse to act without thinking, but thinking without acting isn’t conducive to getting things done (sometimes I’m guilty of this). Thinking for its own sake is fine, though, but if that is all you do, life gets dull.
Decisive or indecisive? Decisive, once all things have been taken into consideration. I usually spend a while deciding something so I can be sure to make the right decision, but once I have decided nothing but new and convincing information can sway me.
Dependent or independent? Independent. I need a ton of space to be content. Not having sufficient space or independence drives me nuts.
Outdoors or indoors? Indoors. I like nature, but I don’t really like being outdoors for long periods of time, especially if the weather conditions are adverse. That’s annoying.
Crowds or solitude? Solitude. I can’t stand crowds. They smother me and make me uncomfortable and irritable.
Power or loyalty? This assumes that the two conflict with each other. If there is someone worth being loyal to, then I would choose loyalty. Otherwise, why not power?
Are you able to act diplomatic? Explain. Yes. I can easily hide what I’m thinking and can usually talk smoothly and quickly enough to side-wind my way out of negative situations. I have plenty of restraint and can see things from a more objective viewpoint when other people have their judgment clouded by emotion.
Are you able to follow the rules? Only if I agree with the rules. If I think a given rule is stupid, unethical, or pointless, there is almost no way I can follow it unless I absolutely force myself (or someone else forces me).
Are you willing to give someone the power over you? It’s very difficult for me to do this, but I can. I only tolerate it if I think the person is fit to have power over me or for some practical reason it needs to happen. There is nothing I hate more, though, than having incompetent, petty, arrogant, power-abusing people boss me around. I have to respect my leader or I am not willing to be led.
Are you able to lead? Yes, but I don’t always like it. I don’t like being responsible for a lot of other people. But I like to plan and strategize, and I have a fair amount of ingenuity. I can maneuver obstacles best using logic: my strategy skills are better than my people skills. It also depends a lot on whom exactly I am leading: I can’t deal with lazy, incompetent, slow, stubborn people. I lose my patience way too quickly. But if others are willing to cooperate, do their best, and use their brains, I am willing to lead.
Are you loyal to your own beliefs? Of course. I shape my beliefs, however, according to the changing nature of reality. Nothing is constant, but I would never be dishonest to myself.
Are you loyal to people? I am loyal to people who have earned my loyalty and trust. I would never betray anyone to whom I have made a vow or promise, because I don’t make vows/promises without wanting and intending to follow through with them. If I give you my word, it’s completely solid. If there is someone, however, to whom I owe nothing, it’s their problem if they get involved with me and don’t like the results. My first loyalty is to myself. Otherwise how can I build links of trust with others?
How do people usually describe you? Quiet, motivated, helpful, academic, diplomatic, reflective, diligent, sullen, independent, busy, cold, logical, modest, efficient.
How would you describe yourself? Meticulous, obsessive, unsocial, successful, driven, questioning, independent, solitary.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would never let anything dampen my drive or confidence.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be? I would eliminate the human tendency not to listen to reason. I think a lot of the stupid problems that happen in the world could easily be avoided if people used their brains a little more and based their actions just a bit more on ration. People act like barbaric freaking psychopathic bullies in part because they get riled up so easily and don’t consider things. Changing that would be more like “changing human nature”, but doubtless it would change the world in some way.
Kritiker offers you a job, doesn't matter which one. Are you interested, or would you rather refuse right away? Why? It depends heavily on how much money I would be getting. I would not refuse right away, nor would I accept right away. I would have to take all relevant factors into consideration and make an informed decision.
How do you feel about Weiss? Do you adore its job, or rather despise it? I don’t despise it. I certainly don’t adore it. I understand that it is a grey subject-neither righteous nor abhorrent. I don’t condone killing, but sometimes it’s a necessary evil. And I don’t believe that Weiss and Schwartz are entirely different in this aspect: they both have their personal reasons for doing what they do, whether or not they try to conceal it.
