They tell us slow down; we’re too young we need to grow
Well speed's the key, and they don’t know who we are

“I can’t believe it’s raining still.” Aiden said as she and Flack stepped out from the bar, each holding an umbrella high over their heads. After shift, Aiden had asked Flack if he wanted to join her, Danny, Stella and Mac at the bar for their usual round of drinks and jokes. Of course he agreed to go and tonight, he was walking Aiden home. Usually Danny would do that but he was hitting it off with some girl and Aiden desperately wanted to go home. Somehow, the smoke and noise was getting to her head.

“It’s New York City Aid,” Flack said as the two of them made their way down the streets sidewalk, dodging other groups and couples as well, “it’s gonna rain as long as it wants.”

“For once though can it just stop? Do you know how hard it is working on a case in the middle of the rain?”

“I’m takin’ it’s some tough shit.”

“It is and most of the evidence gets ruined and we’re most likely back to square one.”

“That’s not good.”

“No it’s not. And you want to know what the worst part of it is Flack?”

“What?” He asked, eyes sparkling as he stole a quick glance at her.

She frowned. “Mud.”

“Mud?” Flack asked as his lips curved into a smile. “Mud? Ya gotta be kiddin’ me Aid. Mud is the worst part?”

“Not all of it no, but when you’re covered in it head to toe, it’s bad.”

Flack smirked. “Ah, guess I’ve never really had that experience.” He told her as they decided to take a short cut through Central Park on the way back to their apartments. Neither one felt like dealing with a taxi.

“You’ve never in your whole life been covered in mud?” Aiden asked a little surprised as she stole a glance at the Detective.

“I didn’t say that. It’s just that I haven’t dealt with mud in a while so I can’t really remember the memories so well.”

“We have to change that then.”

This time Flack gave her a strange look. “What?’

Her eyes only flashed as she bent down to the ground before scooping a handful of mud in her delicate hands before pushing it out towards him. “We have to change that.” She repeated as Flack laughed nervously.

“No thanks Aid. I’m fine.”

In addition, before he could even dart off far away from her (there was no way he wanted to be covered in mud right now), Aiden had thrown the mud right at him, hitting him square in the chest, the brown substance dripping down his white dress shirt.

“You look gorgeous.” Aiden joked, her eyes flashing again with a spark of humor.

Flack watched helplessly as the mud trickled down his front before settling at the base of his foot. The whole time as he watched the mud he could hear Aiden’s small fits of laughter and that somehow had sent him into full revenge mod.

“You’re gonna get it Aid.” Flack warned as he dropped his umbrella down onto the wet ground before grabbing two handfuls of mud and throwing them right at Aiden. One hit her side while the other hit her face.

Even covered in mud she still looked as hot as hell to him and he could not help as he laughed at her, the rain pouring down hard on his uncovered body.

Moreover, that is how it went. Back and forth, the two of them threw balls of mud at one another, Flack having a slight advantage to his height, as they both found themselves covered in mud.

This was a side of Aiden he loved. He loved the side that always seemed to come out when ever she was around him. The one with sparkle in the eye, the mischievous smile on her soft lips and the small yet obnoxious laugh she seemed to carry deep inside of her that she never let anyone hear.

Except for him.

The rain continued to pour from the heavens, droplets of H2O running against gravity as Flack’s eyes scanned Aiden’s body. She was one of a kind and she was drop dead gorgeous. Aiden’s eyes followed Flack’s and she couldn’t help but give him a smirk that shone bright under the moon light.

And at that moment, Flack wasn’t so sure exactly where his brain went as he stepped close to her before lifting her chin up with his finger and leaning in to brush his lips against hers, his other hand finding it’s way into her wet hair.

He was expecting her to push him back, take her umbrella and beat him upside the head, but instead she kissed back, her tongue parting his lips before exploring the new territory that awaited her.

Flack deepened the kiss as Aiden moaned into his mouth. He pressed himself against her, biting her tongue gently with his teeth before nibbling softly on her bottom lip. She tasted like beer and steak, she felt soft and warm beneath his touch and right now all Flack wanted to do was pick her up and take her home and have sex right then and there.

Once they parted for air, Flack noted how red and swollen her lips looked, his teeth mark still clearly visible on her lip.

Both of them stood there breathless, an awkward silence falling upon them because Flack could not believe what just happened. He always thought Aiden viewed him as a friend, nothing more and truthfully, he always believed that Danny and Aiden were a pair and whenever he saw the two working a case, he felt a surge of jealous run through his veins. Now, just a second ago, he and Aiden made out and Danny was not even involved.
Then, Aiden broke the silence, her voice low and seductive as she gazed up into his eyes, his arms still wrapped securely around her. “I need a shower.”

Flack smirked. “I think I can help with that.”

TBC.
