Eclipse

Gak! Adam emerges from a lengthy posting drought!

Why? Because there was full lunar eclipse tonight, the last one until December 2010, and, despite intermittent clouds and temperatures that hovered around 15 degrees, I went outside to photograph the celestial occurrence.

I'd seen other eclipse series like that one in the past, and making an image like this was my goal when I set out. It was fairly easy to do in Photoshop, actually; cropping the original images to get similarly sized moons was the most difficult part.

Glad you like it!

Ah, I'm so happy you were able to see the eclipse, A. I was fast asleep (as were most of us, I imagine!) and resting (so that I don't pick up the hellish illness going around).

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.

Actually, the late-night part was just editing and posting the images. I was out from about 9:15 to 10:15 p.m. for the first three shots in the series, and then I just stepped back outside a little after 11 to get the last shot.

The cold, however, would not have been good for those wishing to stave off illness. But the eclipse was a sight to behold.

Glad you like the photos!

In the end, I do this sort of stuff for me. It's just an extra bonus when other people enjoy the work I produce. So ... thank you!
