Hey Casey, it has been awhile. You seem to be going through tough times lately, I'll be praying for you. Just a few things though. Yes, human history is full of travesties and sin. Yes, at times the supposed church was even the perpetrator of these crimes. However, let us get a few facts of history strait. (1) Columbus did not sail to the new land to spread Christianity, he came as a explorer searching for a trade route to India. (2) The spanish soldiers who murdered indians, in Mexico and California, came with Cortez, their purpose was to find gold and colonize the Americas for Spain. They were not representatives of the Christian faith. Perhaps you should speak out against imperialism. The displacement and slaughtering of the native Americans is truly a disgrace, but to say that the Church of Christ was behind these actions, pulling the strings and controling the sick degrading actions of people is simply false. Spain had a state religion, which was Roman Catholicism, therefore spaniards thought of themselves as "Christian"
