i think it's considered a lie, when you're caught.

it's shocking that a teacher in middle school couldn't give you a ride. it's more shocking to think that a teacher in the city (with a higher crime rate) would give you a ride but a teacher in a rural town like Shamong would give an excuse like "conflict of interest." DUMB.
