"You know, now that I think about it," Jaime said, fingers laced through Momoko's as they walked down the unfamiliar streets, "coming to San Antonio to look at apartments was, like, a terribly unromantic thing to do for Valentine's Day

"We've got a lot of Valentine's days left ahead us. Besides," Momoko chuckled and bumped closer, using her free hand to clasp his arm in a sort of walking hug. "I was trying to figure out a time to come out here, too. You totally just had the idea first."

Or that's what she was going to let him think. She'd been trying to figure out a way to suggest it when he blurted it out the other day.

"I still feel kinda guilty. I mean, I could have found another time to come alone, and we could have done something nice..." Not that having her with him as he explored a new city hadn't been pretty awesome all by itself.

"Silly. I was totally thinking that this would be an awesome trip to make together! We usually only travel places by portal or with your family. You even let me sing in the car!" Though she was totally driving at least a few miles on the way back! "We shared that totally delicious dessert at the cafe? That was nice." He'd tasted like cinnamon and chocolate for at least three kisses after!

"Seriously, Jaime, I am totally not upset or missing anything or regretting this. Not one bit."

"Well," Jaime grinned, then tried to suppress it, "I suppose it's good that you're happy."

His eyes twinkled. "But I didn't get any Valentine's chocolate."
