I've been a little quiet lately
I know I've been a little quiet lately. Things at work are going from bad to worse. They have closed the factory for two months (and still have not made the 'official' announcement that the factory is closed) and layoffs are coming in the next couple of weeks. There is a general feeling of apathy in the office and it is really not good.
SO - I've been looking for a new job. I went to another interview yesterday and I am very confident that I will be getting an offer today. I'd like to be able to turn in my notice at my current place of employment and start the new job in the next couple of weeks or so. I'd also like to work out a deal to allow me the ability to work as a consultant for my current employer to bring in some extra cash since I know how everything here works and I have the passwords for everything. I guess we will just see how it works out.
I also have a couple of things to share about my new vehicle purchase. I took it to a local performance tuning shop to have them run it on the dyno to determine horsepower and torque. Everyone there was VERY impressed with the car, the quality of the aftermarket work, the clean body, etc. The car produced 253hp at the rear wheels which is about 60 more hp than stock which is VERY impressive. After that I took a friend from work out for a spin in it and let him drive it back to work. When parking it he rolled into the curb damaging the front bumper. I tried to buff out the paint wrinkles, but it didn't work. It is going to cost $125 to repair. OUCH!
So - I'm never letting someone borrow my car again. Not gonna happen.
I'd like to ask for prayer/good thoughts/positive feelings/whatever regarding this new job. It would be a great challenge and will really stretch my skills, but overall it will be a HUGE career move for me and will put me in a much more stable working environment. Thanks!
