you just can't be a feminist while tearing down another woman for doing what she wants. being a feminist isn't about embracing femininity or being more ~butch or what have you. It's about doing what you want as a woman because you want to, whether it be being conservatively dressed and being a stay at home mom or flaunting your sexuality in public or chasing whatever career you please. If women keep trying to act holier than other women and slut shaming, we're not going to progress anywhere

Z, I am disappoint

Came here to say exactly that.

I'm pretty disappointed as well. I was not expecting this from her.

i posted what i could fit into the 1,000 character facebook limit, you can read it here. i'm not sure anything will come of it in the big picture, but these kinds of things really tick me off, so i had to say something. :/

Heh, I don't have a Facebook so I cannot see it. It's probably a good thing I don't have one because I would also be leaving a comment but letting my annoyance get in the way and make a perfect ass of myself.

i can c/p if you'd like? it's not much though. i figure you should be able to see if it even if you don't have an account because the site should be public!

I agree with her like 100%
I don't get why so many girls show their whole bodies for anyone in the world to see. It, to me, is so unlady-like and I'm so tired of seeing it.
Kudos to Z for speaking her mind :)

you realize z puts and has put her body on display for anyone in the world to see numerous times, and will probably continue to do so despite what she has said here, right? because she does this in a "feminine" way rather than a more straightforward way, does that somehow make it okay...? i'm asking because i fail to see how she's expressed herself appropriately here, and i don't understand how that's okay at all.

Yeah, I do find it kind of odd that she said this becuase I've seen her nipples like 3 times, but I still agree with her on this completey. Don't hate me!

I am super irked/squicked by this. I understand, basically, her standpoint and opinion and WHY, but it's very lopsided or just badly worded with what she's claimed before. I especially don't like the 'better than you' attitude, it just doesn't suit anyone.

(basically, what Alora said)

she has that "better than you" attitude about fashion a lot of the time, and now she's treading dangerous territory and trying to mix it in with feminism... and failing really badly ):

How has she displayed a "better than you" attitude about fashion?

I don't know how to word it without sounding like I am trying to start an argument. That is totally not my intention, haha.

it's okay, i get you. i mostly think about this one specific interview where she said she doesn't "get" fashion today, and i think she mentioned the resurgence of 90's trends, when literally less than a year ago she was following those exact same trends. it seems to me like because she's gone through this whole transformation into the 60's decade wear/sound/style and she's so into it now, she thinks any other kinds of fashion aren't ~worthy, if that makes sense. i don't have a link to the article on hand but i could find it if i need to

Z Berg you used to dress like '94 Rachel from Friends, your argument is invalid.

lol when I read this, I had every picture of her with her leg up over her head while in a dress flash in my mind.
