Tara and Lorne
At the Club
Discussing an important topic.
Tara: Alright. Just do it. Yea. Do it. That's what Tara thought as she wandered her current place of work. But how to ask Lorne? She was sure he'd say yes, but she felt sort of shy about it, even if she was exstatic about it. "Lorne...?" She asked, just as they were supposed to be closing and most people/demons were leaving.
Lorne: "What's up, buttercup?" Lorne was counting the last of that night's receipts. The Welcome Bar was doing quite well, and he could hardly wait until the big soire they were having. He still hadn't decided on his attire for that splendid occassion.
Tara: She blinked and smiled softly. She wanted to ask. "Well...I have something I want to ask you...for...you know, that party for the naming of the club...?" She twiddled her fingers slowly, nervously. She felt excited and nervous at the same time. And she usually felt comfortable around the pleasant green demon. But thisw as...quite important.
Lorne: Lorne glanced at her as he ran the tape, and noting her expression he set the receipts down and leaned over the bar, cupping his chin in his hand. "You have my full attention, sweetie."
Tara: She smiled softly. Well, now was the moment of truth. "I was...um....wondering...if ...And promise you won't tell anyone...But, I was wondering if Willow and I...could...announce out engagement and soon to be marriage here, when you name the club officially." There. She said it. She got it all out. Her cheeks were a little flush, her face warm, but she had asked, and now was the few moments of total anxiousness, wondering what he'd say.
Lorne: Lorne stood up straight, and a huge grin broke over his face. He wrapped Tara in a gigantic hug. "Honey, that is fabulous! I'm so happy for the both of you. And I'd be honored if you graced the party with such terrific news!" He pulled back to stare her in the face. "Your secret is safe with me, peaches."
Tara: She smiled and hugged him back. It felt wonderful to finally have that off of her chest. "Thank you...so much." She said softly, smiling and almost crying from the joy it brought her. The feeling of love was in the air for Tara, and nothing could take that away. "Thanks for not telling anyone. It'll be our three's secret." She still didn't know how it would affect Kennedy.
Lorne: "So how are all the arrangements going for the party? I know you are busy now with other work, but I am thrilled that you are still here helping us all out." Lorne said, holding her hands in his larger green one.
Tara: She smiled. "It's going well. I mean, there's the usual little snags and all, but it's going well. We're going to decorate the walls and everything. I picked up this nice looking dress...and a few songs I'd like to sing." She blushed slightly. She still couldn't believe she'd be singing. "But...can I have that night off, aside from the singing?" She would do the singing, no doubt about it...but she wanted to be with Willow for that night.
Lorne: "Of course you can. I plan to mingle myself. I've already thought about hiring extra help just for the night. It will be an added expense, but it will be well worth it. And honey, your voice is magical."
Tara: She blushed even more, wondering how it was even possible. "It's just my voice...nothing special..." She didn't find herself extrodinary. She just thought of herself as Tara. The woman who would love Willow forever. Until she died was a lie, as she had already died...and still loved her more than logic would allow. "Thank you. There's no boss I'd rather have." It's true, there wasn't. But she might be changing jobs soon. because Willow was more important than a job. Even if it was Lorne.
Lorne: Lorne smiled and kissed her on the cheek. "Why don't you head out and go be with that love of yours. I'll finish up here." He shooed her away.
Tara: She smiled, a grin splitting her face from ear to ear. "yes'sir!" She said with a slight giggle, unusual for her, but not completely out of the question. She had a lot of reasons to be happy right now. Some things were just...falling into place. But she'd not count her chickens early, as things liked to fall apart as soon as they got started. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She smiled broadly and kissed the green man on the cheek, returning the favor with much enthusiasm.
Lorne: Lorne blushed, if that was even possible for a green skinned demon, and waved her off. Then he went back to his receipts, but the smile never left his face. Now they really had a reason to party!
Tara: And off Tara went, a smile on her face, off to tell Willow the good news from what Lorne had told her, an extra bounce in her step. She could hardly wait for the night to come and the look on their mutal friend's faces as they announced their plans.
