Description : Pesky demons pay the Slayer a house visit
--------------------
Buffy sighed as she went through yet another folder. Another kid with another set of problems. These things never seemed to stop. She ran her hands through her hair before she slowly stood and paced for a moment. She knew there was some sort of party at Lorne's but she really wasn't feeling sociable, she had been so cranky for the last couple of days. She didn't want to ruin a perfectly good night by being grouchy. She was sure Kris was around somewhere, probably training. The girl did it more than Buffy did and that was saying something.
A strange silence seemed to have fallen over the house and for some reason this was unsettling and Buffy wasn't sure she trusted it. Things never got quiet unless something was going to happen; it always happened this way and for yet another unexplainable reason. She went to her weapons trunk and she pulled an axe from within it.
And it would seem her bad feeling wasn't for nothing as a sudden loud noise drew her attention to where her door had been once. Now instead of her door, she had a very large green demon with silver nails and elongated teeth." Oh, this is not good." She muttered as she backed up one step and then her eyes widened still as she saw another five demons join the other." Definitely not good." Buffy said with a hard swallow before her head turned to the sound of footsteps pounding on stairs." Kris! Stop!" She shouted in the hopes of warning her fellow Slayer.
Kris heard Buffy's voice, she heard the slight panic in it and it was more than enough to bring her to an abrupt halt. Her eyes went to the demons and she blinked slowly as three of them seemed to turn their attention to her." Oh..fuck.." She muttered slowly and she was suddenly wishing she had more than just her fists for weapons. She glanced back over her shoulder and she briefly calculated an escape route but there was no way Buffy was getting past those six demons to get out via the escape route Kris had made in her head. Which meant, she wasn't either and so she simply fell into a defensive position.
The green demon moved towards Buffy along with a yellow and grey one. The yellow had large horns and scaled skin, the grey one resembled rock. Sharp, jagged mounds stood out on its body and its red eyes focused on Buffy. Kris shifted on her feet as a red, white and another green one looked at her. The red seemed to have flames coming from its nose and the white one's skin was sharp like glass, she noted this fact as it brushed against the wall and several large cuts were ripped through it.
Buffy sprung back as those silver nails sliced through the air at her, she winced as they took out her coffee table. She narrowly avoided a punch to her right side before a blow to her left forced her through the air and she hit the couch. She grunted as she hit and the couch tipped over with her, the axe dropped from her ground and spun across the ground. To this, she swore before she simply focused on kicking the nearest demon.
Kris was having her own issues. The fire breathing demon had already burnt a massive hole in the ground and had barely missed Kris. Kris caught the green demon's arm as it lunged for her and all the muscles in her arms tensed as she used its own momentum to swing it around into the white one. As soon as it impacted, the demon's skin was cut open and it let out a cry of pain. It was Kris' idea of good music.
The yellow demon now staggered back and crashed into the nearby bookcase. The shelves collapsed beneath its weight before the bookcase simply fell forward and crashed down against the ground. Buffy flipped to her feet, her hands curled into fists and those same hands made contact with the green one's face. It moved back a few paces before it staggered to the left as Buffy brought her foot down over its face. The grey one on the other hand was still standing and it caught Buffy when she had been unprepared. The blow sent a ripple of pain through Buffy and she was very sure she had cracked ribs. Buffy was now lifted through the air and thrown through the nearest wall.
Kris' eyes widened as she saw Buffy appear in the hall and not by the usual means. Buffy hit down hard and there was much coughing." Buffy?" Kris called as she narrowly avoided a lunge but she hissed as the white demon sliced open her arm and her blood spilt down over the ground. Kris ignored the pain and simply kept on fighting.
Buffy picked herself off the ground." I'm okay." She shouted back to Kris before she moved to one side, just in time to catch a rather large horn as it drove down towards her stomach. It pierced her skin for a brief moment before Buffy snarled and she snapped that demon's neck. She gasped as the demon fell towards her and she was forced back towards the ground, her shoulder pinned to the ground and the green one with the silver nails forced them down and through her shoulders. Buffy yelped rather sharply at the sudden flash of pain and she groaned as the familiar feel of warm blood spread out around her.
Kris by this was backed into the kitchen but at least in the kitchen. She had weapons. She now clasped one carving knife in one hand and a silver pan in the other. Not the best weapons around but it was all she had and she would make do. The pan moved up to hit the side of the red demon's head and Kris groaned as it crumpled upon impact but at least it gave her some time. As the demon was dazed, she thrust the knife into the side of its neck. Wincing as the blade seemed to heat and it raced down the handle into the palm of her hand. She smelt her own skin burning but she kept a hold of the knife and simply forced it right down before the demon slumped and lay dead at her feet.
Where was Buffy? Why couldn't she see her? Kris thoughts were abruptly cut off by something sliding into her side. She gasped before her eyes looked down and ran the length of the nail, the arm and then finally she looked into the eyes of the demon. Her eyebrow twitched in pain before she simply drew her head back and she forced her forehead into the demon. The blow was more than enough to stun the demon and Kris was able to extract herself.
Buffy's eyes widened as the grey one drove its fist down towards her but luckily she was able to jerk her head out of the way and the floor simply crumpled beneath the blow. Buffy shoved the dead demon off her before she rolled back and got back up to her feet, she ignored the pain and the blood. She was solely focused on the two remaining demons. The green lunged and as it did, she sidestepped and caught it by the back of its neck. She pressed her fingers in before she turned it with her own body and flung it into the grey one. Both demons were sent into the wall and the entire foundations of the house shook and the ceiling above collapsed down around the demons.
Kris lifted her sneaker, catching the green demon by the chin and she literally lifted the demon off its feet and sent it back through the air. The banister on the stairs was ripped away as the demon tried to catch a hold of it to slow its momentum. The white one now took its place and its sharp skin cut into Kris, she hissed and she gasped as flashes of pain raced through her, from the tip of her toes, all the way to every hair on her head.
Buffy marched back into her living room, leaning down to snatch up the massive axe which she handled with ease. She turned it in her hand before she simply lifted and swung it through the air. It hit into the side of the green demon's neck and its head was sent flying from its shoulders. Buffy pulled a slight face as dark brown blood dripped from the silver blade. She had little to no time to take another swing as an arm caught her chest and she was once again forced through the air. Her body hit the window before it broke through it and Buffy landed on her front right on her front garden. Shards of glass rained down all around her.
Kris clamped her hands down on either side of the counter and she used her new grip to lift herself. As she did, she looped her legs around the white demon's neck, ignoring the way its skin cut up her legs and she tightened her hold before literally spinning herself and twisting her lips. As she did, she snapped the demon's neck and fell to the ground. She let out a sudden rush of breath and quickly moved as the demon crashed to the ground beside her. The ground seemed to crack beneath its weight and she thanked the Gods that hadn't been her.
Buffy coughed and spat out blood as she finally got her bearings. Green grass brushed over her cheek, soft and cool. A startling contrast to everything else happening around and within her. Her entire body felt like it was on fire and she wanted nothing more than to succumb to the darkness but she wouldn't. That wasn't what she did. She was Buffy, she was the Slayer and there was no way some demons were breaking into her home and living to see another day. She walked back to the broken window and clambered back inside before she was grabbed and lifted. A strong hand tightened around her throat.
Rolling forward, Kris got to her feet and her hand clamped down over her side as it rapidly bled out. She ignored it and focused her attention on the green demon which had finally made its way up from the basement. She cracked her neck to one side before she simply charged at it. All her anger and all her fury focused at that one demon and it was more than enough to lift the pair of them off the ground. Only to slam back down and right through the ground, back down into the basement.
The air in her lungs was literally being choked from her. Buffy knew this and so she swung her leg out to catch the side of the demon's head. She gasped sharply as the impact was hard, like slamming your hand against concrete and she was the most hurt out of the two. She moved onto another tactic which was to grab anything around her and to hit it into the demon. These things consisted of chairs and her work folder at one point. Anything and everything, she didn't care what, just as long as it gave her chances to get free.
Kris coughed as the dust finally cleared and she jumped slightly as she was nose-to-nose with the demon but she had to smirk as a rather large part of wood seemed to pin the demon to the ground." About time I got lucky." She muttered. Blood streamed from her mouth and streaked her skin. Just moving hurt but Kris did and she got to her feet. She walked to where she had left her sword. Her hand wrapped around the hilt and she brought it back to where the demon lay. The demon moved its free arm and caught Kris' thigh with its nails and she snarled in pain before she simply brought the sword down. Effectively ending that demon's life before she pulled the sword free and she moved up the stairs. She had to help Buffy.
Buffy's head was spinning but she wasn't giving up, not yet. She turned her head and bit down hard into the demon's arm. It was like biting into stone but she managed to push through the hard outer surface and those pearly whites sunk into the vulnerable flesh beneath. The demon hollered and dropped her quite unceremoniously to the ground. Buffy's feet hit the ground first but her legs crumpled beneath her so she landed on her back. But this didn't stop her, her foot went up through the air and caught the demon in the stomach and as it doubled over, she swung out for its legs. She rolled to the side and avoided it as it fell.
" Buffy!" Kris called before she tossed the sword she held towards Buffy.
Her eyes looked up at the call of her name before her hand caught the sword and she simply used it to remove the demon's head. Once removed, Buffy collapsed on her side and she muttered." We won, yay. Go us."
Kris slumped against the wall before she slowly sank all the way down to the ground. She smirked slowly and she fought the urge to shut her eyes. The adrenaline was fading from her system and she was beginning to feel the effects of her injuries." Good work." She whispered very softly before she slid from her crumpled position to lay against the ground. Her hand still clasped on her side in the attempt to stop the bleeding.
Buffy's eyes lifted to Kris and she tried to say no, don't sleep but she too gave in. The darkness washed over her and she knew nothing more.

Yes I know. Very colourful demons but I needed a way in which to tell them apart. If I had simply used "demons" it would have gotten confusing. Even more so than it did already ney? ;-)
