We bought tickets to honolulu on friday. We will go in mid november and fly back late at night on Thanksgiving, which means we will get to enjoy my dad's thanksgiving, something I haven't done since my senior year of high school. Wow, this is going to be a big trip for you in so many ways. "Home" is such a confusing word. I consider the Bay Area my only home and then feel wrong about it, like I'm not allowed to because I'm not from here. But it's the only place where I've ever felt like I belonged. Maybe that's just because it's the site where I grew into myself, true homecoming.

Maybe you would come across better in writing if you practiced your skills more by coming back here to LiveJournal. ;-)

I think it's neat how words/sayings/sentiments become clearer as we grow older. It's something I've been noticing a lot the past couple years, meanings of things I only understood on a surface level if at all, and so thought them either platitudes or lies, have become deeper, truer, or at least more comprehensible because I've experienced more. I've actually never understood the word "righteous," what it means, whether it's a good or bad thing...
