Just a reminder -- for all Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blusters and blows, his authority is limited to domestic issues. His rants against Israel have about as much bearing on Iran's foreign policy as would those of, say, a U.S. Secretary of the Interior.

Don't believe me? Just take Scott Ritter's word for it ( Read more... )

the california plan (i thought) limited the percentage of administrative costs that an insurance company could spend/charge/whatever, which i thought was a step in the right direction.

I haven't put that much thought into it (with grad school stuff I can't get much past insurance situation=bad) but damn, it would be nice if I could pay $77/month for my no coverage. I went to the eye doctor yesterday and it cost me $50 for her to look at my eyes and tell me that nothing had changed. I don't think it would have been that much more money uninsured, though I guess I don't really know.

Yeah, vision plans are a total joke unless you actually wear glasses regularly and get them replaced on a two-year basis (which is the most your average vision plan will even cover for). You probably essentially just paid for the exam out of pocket.

I'm hoping he can, but I called on Thursday and he was in surgery that day, then out of the office on Friday, then stuck away from the office (he was travelling?) today... hopefully he'll call back tomorrow but time is sort of running short.

As for Iran... yeah. Not that our side in Congress is really doing anything about it (yet)...

Ooh! Dinner. Hmm. Uhm, I'm supposed to have plans tonight (though I need to double-check that -- if no, then perhaps tonight?) and I'm tutoring Wed/Thur. Any chance of next week? Or Tuesday?
