I came across this striking image on my internet travels and had to bring it back to my little corner of the internet so I could gaze at it in my own time.
Good to read of your resolution to get your poetry published. I've browsed through at least a couple of those magazines in the past, and they seem like reputable venues to me. I never submitted to the 'big names' when I used to versify ~ too scared! I think you've got a good chance of getting yourself out there.
Thank you for the compliment Rob! I was browsing through my recent Gregory Prize submission and could find only three poems worth submitting. However, I've written another two this month that I thought weren't bad so I've a batch of five going to The Rialto today (or tomorrow)!
Your friend and mine Larkin made a comment about editors often choosing poems only thrown into submissions to 'make the others look better' (paraphrase). Happened to me with Poetry Salzburg. Padding out with a couple of items average to your mind isn't criminal.

But having said that, five is a good number.
