I met up for drinks with Red at Taurus before the event at 7pm, where we chatted over a pint each about Red's writing, my comics and poetry and what we've both been doing with ourselves. During the course of the conversation I discovered that Red wasn't much of a fan of Edmund White's semi-autobiographical trilogy of novels, made up of A Boy's Own ( Read more... )

Well, you should bring out your own version of Arts and Letters! I would certainly give it a read. I'm enjoying really enjoying Paul Bowles' 'The Sheltering Sky' - very good! Is that one you've read?

Yes, that's the one - I thought it was pretty good. Bit of a case of flowery style and average substance, but certainly worth a read.
