I can't say I'm not baffled by Strutt's last actions. I'm afraid I'm not ready to be as generous as Jack in explaining his behavior.
Let's hope Jack IS right about Lloyd though, although I somehow can't see the miserable sod just fading off into the background.

in my head, strutt evolved from a very single-minded i'll do whatever i need to to win a case character to an i'll still do anything i need to to win a case but it's because i have to as opposed to because i want to character. You'll notice that from russell's testimony onwards, Strutt was a lot less gleeful in his questionning so i think him shaking ianto's hand was a way of saying, i know i shouldn't have done that but it was, essentially my job.
