Ah…oh crap....I…really don't think this is the other world. I know I've never actually been to the other world so I don't really know what it should look like but…I'm pretty sure this is not it.

Well, um, I'm new here too and I'm not sure what's going on. But there's a HUUUUGE monster, and a bunch of little crab monsters... basically, don't go out in the streets unless you have a weapon or can do magic.

Monsters? That's not good...so no one has taken care of them?

Sadly, I seem to have lost my staff...I think I can still do magic though. I'm surprised so many people know about that though...magic that is...this really is a different place.

Well sure. Lots of people know about magic in my world. There's even an entire army of mages. You should meet Clari. He's the commander of the army and the strongest mage... um... I think ever.

I can only do a tiny bit of magic myself, and I'm not very good at it at all. It's hard work to learn!

Well a lot of people know in my world too(in fact I was trying to GET to the Magic World when I ended up here) but...well...normal people aren't supposed to find out...it can lead to punishments for the mages that reveal it. Of course I seem to be rather bad at hiding it myself since over half of my class knows my secret. Still those were special circumstances.

The strongest mage? That would certainly be an honor...my father was rumored to be the most powerful where I'm from...they called him The Thousand Master.

Ah...but enough about me...is this Clari person here as well?

Man, I can sympathize with missing your staff. As far as I know mine is back in Chicago and so I've been using this hockey stick as a substitute.

Just some quick advice, don't go near the big park at the center of the island, don't go in the water, and stay out of the tunnels. If you need a place to stay there's the Pennsylvania Hotel or you can go where I'm staying at 828 Broadway above the Strand Bookstore. Let me know if you need someone to come get you.

A hockey stick? Well that's rather unconventional...I'm not sure what I'm going to do in line of a replacement for mine...well I really can't replace it...it was a gift from my father...but I'm probably going to have to find something to use as a tool.

Ah! So you're a mage too Mr Dresden? Considering this isn't the magical world I was aiming to get to there certainly seem to be a good number of mages from what I've heard. I've never met an American mage before either!

Are those the places where the monsters Miss Flute mentioned are? I don't intend to look for trouble of course...unfortunately it seems to be drawn to me (all the more reason to find a temporary staff or wand I suppose).

Heh, well hopefully I'll be a good representative of American Wizards. Sadly my magical technique is rather stereotypically American. Lots of power, not so much finesse, big explosions. But yea, there do seem to be a lot of us running around, although I have met some natives who have had experiences with the supernatural before this.

Yep, and trust me they're not somewhere you want to go wandering without a large army backing you up.

Other world? Maybe it is? No idea though, just got here a few days back. Hey if it helps I lost what I was carrying too when I got yanked here. Dunno how I wound up here either.
