well, i was all excited for no fun fest, but it just so happens that the four bands i really wanted to see (whitehouse, consumer electronics, sunn0))) and runzelstirn & gurgelstock) all cancelled! i knew the first three had cancelled in advance, but i was still really excited about seeing the latter and didn't know they/he wasn't going to be

I'm getting REALLY fucking irritated at all these stupid little, what 17 year old assholes hooting and hollering and fist pumping at TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE times, like Dave Phillips' INTENSE film about responsibility and animal abuse... these fucking kids were like cheering when it was showing animals dying... I want to kill them. Totally, "I've seen people do this on a The Wolf Eyes DVD, so I guess I need to flip out to look cool!" They obviously aren't even listening, they're just trying to be "cool"... AND I want to kill them.
Macronympha was amazing...
Hototogisu wasn't that good, just one chick with some junk and mountains of pedals...

but yeah, this shit is getting ridiculous... i think hair police is terribly overrated garbage, but the few minutes of their set on friday was almost embarrassing to watch. i walked upstairs after bloodyminded played and caught the tail of their set and wanted to vomit. hordes of 15 year old guys screaming on stage and ironically pumping their fists (while their girlfriends stood in the back of the club looking bored). i saw them about 4 years ago and thought they were terrible, but i assumed they had gotten somewhat better over the years. well, they're not as bad as they were then, but they're still crap in my opinion.
and that blows that bower didn't play in hototogisu (especially since it seems that that project is more his than bassett's anyway). the macronympha line-up looked awesome, but i'd already had enough noise after friday. all i want to listen to now is the aislers set and various other indie pop.
