Get a clue, Oliver

Apparently, Oliver Stone is convinced that the reason Alexander didn't have good box office numbers in the States is because Americans are a bunch of religious homophobes. That, or it sounds good in the British press. It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he makes long, boring, preachy movies, could it? Nah, I didn't think so.

I came to admire him a bit, not for his movies, but for that book written by one of the producers of Natural Born Killers. Stone actually comes across like a (relatively) genuine nice guy and passionate director compared to many of the film world denizens she writes of (especially Tarantino, who comes across from her POV as a real heel). But, yeah, I don't think much of his work, either.

He must have missed the avalanche of negative reviews for his films to have come up with that questionable hypothesis.

His film, even. "Alexander," I mean. Yeah. Ok.
