Kids are healing

Thanks for all the well wishes last week. The kids are healing well. Christopher is probably at 95% (still occasionally complains of pain, but he might just be a little jealous of the attention Alexis is getting).

Alexis (who got both adenoids and tonsils removed), is still slowly healing. She might be at about 70%. If I don't wake her up in the middle of the night (every 4 hours) for pain meds, she wakes up with tears in her eyes complaining of pain. And when the meds wear off, she still feels pain.

The nurses said she'd need 2 weeks, but the ENT thought she'd be OK in 7 days. NOT. The ENT thought that adults usually need 2 weeks but that kids bounce back sooner. Come to think of it, the ENT I took them to for the second opinion said that she'd need a good 10-14 days (since she got both adenoids and tonsils out). So I don't know what our regular ENT is thinking.

Anyway, Alexis is talking strange now. She speaks very little, and it sounds very nasal. Christopher is bouncing off the walls. He gets so bored being in the house all day. I hope to take them to the movies tomorrow, just to get out of the house, but I hurt my back this weekend, so I have to make sure I can sit in a movie theater seat for 90 minutes. My pelvis feels like it's screwed on and that the pelvis wasn't lined up well with the spinal cord when the screw was tightened. Ugh.

health, kids
