Work in progress, part 2
Today I got a couple more steps done on Peep:
First I measured the neck opening of a tshirt that I know fits Nedward, and the waist of a pair of pants likewise. I drew corresponding circles on the top and bottom of the ball and topstitched along the lines. I cut away about 1" away from inside the line, then graded the inside muslin and foam layers away to nearly nothing.
I then folded the remaining fleece edge inside and hand-stitched it down. forming a binding.
I then machine-stitched halfway up the remaining opening, and then sewed a snap at the top (neck) edge.
Now we have a nice fluffy yellow ball! Tomorrow I will put it on him to check it, and mark the arm holes. Then to make a little matching yellow hood with a red coxcomb on it, et voila :)
