Bras and a credit card. :-) And, bonus, Nedward doesn't have any bras!
WTF with you being in Boston this whole time???
(You didn't seriously think I had a good packing idea, did you? Because I would have no idea. India was a horrible revelation that I had lost any packing gift I might have had.)
bras are in the laundry, being washed in prep - and the new ones I bought are in the packing pile. hopefully I will remember my purse, and therefore my credit card... :)
I was in Boston for about 72 hours, and I was at Turtle Lane pretty much the whole time. Really saw just about no one... sorry!!
What I didn't pack: tee shirts, socks, and sneakers. Also jeans, but I didn't so much want to have them in India as I just missed them in general.
What I did pack: non-sneaker shoes, distraction materials, nice clothes, books, sunblock (though I bet you'll need sunblock), mosquito repellent.
I always seems to overestimate the variety of nice clothes I need versus the variety of loungy clothes. I'm best off assuming I will never even get showered in the morning and pack accordingly. Having been in Hawaii for extended periods of time, I think this philosophy might actually work.
Dude, I'm so jealous I'm green with it! 2 months in Hawaii!?!
I would say, since you'll be in Hawaii over the holidays, that if there are things you just need to make the holidays for you or the kiddo, don't forget them. For me, it wouldn't be the same without our stockings, so I would pack them. You know your traditions, if you have any...find a way to honor them while you are gone.
If you had had more time, I would have suggested sending the suitcases straight through to HI, and shipping the stuff you needed to SF via UPS and then shipping it back home or carrying it on with you to HI, but I'm not sure if you will have time.
Whatever you do, have an absolute blast, take lots of pictures, and post if you get the chance to tell us all how wonderful the weather in Hawaii is...we can live vicariously though you as we trudge through the snow.
you're totally invited to come visit!! We're spending the time with my mother, who was born & raised there. The aim is to test out living there, and see if we want to move there full-time. So I'm going to try to volunteer with all the local theatre companies, and see if I find a fit... B's company has already said they can transition him to work with their Pacific Rim clients, so he can keep working for the same company if we do decide to move. Plus, unemployment is essentially zero in HI right now -- there are business literally closing because they can't get staff. So if it seems like I'd be happy there, we're going to seriously consider moving
