First off...we should definitely have an Oscar party. Definitely.

And...I loved Children of Men. The thing that I thought was awesome was that it had a lot of violence...but it was the right KIND of violence and the perfect amount for the movie. I didn't think any of it was gatuitous or unnecessary.

I felt the same way. The violence was so closely connected to the themes of the movie that it wouldn't have been the same without it, really. It made it hard to watch, but it also made me think what it would be like to live in a warzone, and what it would be like if the warzone was a familiar place. That really impressed me about COM.
