I hae a space a little bigger than that, to the left of the photo, not edged with wood, that is where I was thinking about planting a pumpkin. There's room to trail it up the bank (not steep) there, too. The strawberry patch is 3 or 4 times what you see in the photo.
I think I'd just plant one hill of zuchinnis, at the back corner, next time. I can trail them over the back, and they won't overtake. There were 3 hills of 2 plants each, I think, in that photo.
Oh, you mean the one I've commented on previously? I knew I'd seen one before. :-)
One of my capsicum/peppers I've got growing looks like yours did, but I've left it as it's got one lonely pepper on it and I thought I'd see if it amounted to anything. Of six capsicum seedlings I've got 1.2 remaining. J helped kill them by yanking them out of the tray, and leaving most of the root system behind, and I just couldn't nurse them back to health.
I don't know yet when I CAN plant outside, I think March we can start here, but there is no harm in dreaming and planning early! I can stand to get started on the cleanup and clear out of the old, dead stuff, too.

I try to grow my zucchini's in the corner of mine, so that the huge leaves hang over on two sides, rather than taking up a huge section of the garden.
My pumpkin plant are trailing and bush type. The trailing ones are HUGE!
Good luck, look forward to seeing what you come up with.
