Ok, I fully love this chapter, of course (and now I'm in the mood for angst so this is all sorts of lovely) but, seriously, the Jack-dies-before-Rose-finds-out-about-his-immortality? Every time I see it I love it.
Maybe it's a bit cliche now but I think it provides authors with some great material- not to mention bloody fabulous cliffhangers, damn you.
Thank you! Yes, that's been done a LOT of times in fic, but I couldn't resist using it here too. Next chapter coming up very soon, and I hope you like it too :)
Oh, and I'm so sorry to keep you waiting for so long! Blame ficathons and allergies and just being too damn tired. But fic is progressing at last so the next chapter's coming very soon. Thank you!
This story is bringing back so many memories from the third season.
He pauses a few seconds more in front of the memorial before turning away. “I’m sorry,” he murmurs, a lump in his throat. “I’m so sorry.”
Ouch. *sniff* He's still carrying around so much guilt. That's not going to be an easy problem to fix.
Now Jack's gone and died in front of Rose. That's going to take some explaining!
You're doing a great job showing the way all the characters have grown and changed, some changes for the better and some for the worse. It's very realistic as are all of your stories.
I'm looking forward to more! This is an amazing ride!
Yes, a lot of guilt; but then that's a burden the Doctor's always carried. I'm not sure that he'd ever be rid of it. All those who love him can hope to do is help him learn to live with it.
As for Jack dying in front of Rose, I suspect they actually need to start telling her the truth for a change ;)
guess she will know nowothermewriterMay 10 2008, 05:12:53 UTC
What is it about these guys springing the sudo-immortal and immortal stuff on Rose with no warning. Sighhh is it a Y thing? Poor Rose is in for yet another shock. Just hope she doesn't get into too much mischief till he comes around.

Well, yeah, it's not exactly an easy thing to come right up and say, is it? Especially not when Rose is the one responsible. Yes, she does know now... or she will shortly ;)

Very good story! The series so far too. More soon? Cliffies are bad for my anxiety.
