I've seen a couple of 'drabble tags' or 'drabble trees' going around, and so I decided to do my own version here. Anyone, whether on my flist or not, is welcome to take part, whether you consider yourself a writer or not :)

Rules:

1. A drabble is defined in its correct meaning: 100 words, no more, no less. So no 150-word ficlets, no 80-word ( Read more... )

Idolatry

Her. It’s always her, isn’t it?

He wouldn’t let her fight the Daleks - not his beloved Rose. She got sent away, to safety, from Satellite Five. She wasn’t left behind; they were together until Canary Wharf.

It’s not that he minds. He’s glad, more than he can say, to know that she’s not dead.

It’s just that...

Do you just get bored with us one day and disappear?

Not if you’re blonde.

It’s just that he’s spent nearly a hundred and forty years trying to work out what he did wrong, when maybe it was only that he’s not her.

Thanks very much! I know Jack loves Rose too, but in that moment on Malcassiro we could hear the frustration and resentment in his voice :( That has to hurt.

It does. The Doctor's affections are very Animal Farm at the moment, because he's so blatant about having favorites.

I read this one yesterday and it really stuck with me. That last line is a killer. Lovely!
