love is about seeing beyond what's right in front of you, seeing past your own limited vision to the bigger picturel

whoever said love was blind got it all wrong. in fact, it's quite the opposite. love is about seeing beyond what's right in front of you, seeing past your own limited vision to the bigger picture.

shinwoo realized this too late.

he experienced love through tunnel vision, and minam was the light shining at the end.

it was a race. him to minam, minam to taekyung. all he had to do was force her around and she would see him, she would know. then she would love him, too.

at the end of the tunnel, his vision cleared and he understood. minam had been facing him all the time, but she would never see him. taekyung was at the other end and he was just an obstacle in the way.

so he let her go.

then hankyung files the lawsuit, and heechul comes to grips with reality
a/n: for eleclya111, who gave me the base

Heechul and Hankyung met, years ago, and casually fell into some sort of unspeakable, unexplainable relationship. Friends with benefits, you might call them, though they never called referred to themselves as such. They both agreed it wasn't real, that it would only last until Super Junior was over and then they would go their separate ways, find their own pretty wives to settle down with.

Then Hankyung files the lawsuit, and Heechul comes to grips with reality. Super Junior, as they knew it, might very well be over. The montage to the group covers their history, their trials and tribulations, the very foundation of who they are. But Hankyung is edited out and they are suddenly a group in which he had never existed.

Heechul cries, for once unable to suppress his tears behind a coy smile or a cheerful smirk. They are over, he realizes, and suddenly understands another truth. Somewhere along the way, it had become real for him, though it seems it never was for Hankyung.

a/n: for coyotecolored, a result of this picture

Hankyung is in Beijing and they are in Beijing, but they might as well be an entire world apart. There are unspoken restrictions and time limitations that make it impossible for him to visit. Whether calculated or not, Heechul feels uncomfortable, watched, restrained.

He wants to say, "Fuck this, I'm going to find him with or without your consent," but can't. It was always Hankyung who took the lead when they were in China, Hankyung who showed him the way. Now that Hankyung is gone, he doesn't know where else to turn.

Theoretically, Zhou Mi is more than capable of guiding him. He may not have grown up in Beijing, but he's a native Chinese and can at least ask for directions in Mandarin. Still, looking at Zhou Mi makes Heechul feel guilty for reasons he can't quite express. He stays away, afraid of what would happen if he asked for the favor.

They edit Hankyung out of the montage. He sits and watches with everyone else as they pretend they are complete without him, never needed him to start with. He watches as they pretend they are a (normal, all-Korean) band of eleven turned twelve with two more boys added to a team that no longer has a leader. He watches as they pretend to be something they are not, and cries because, though this is a stage, he refuses to be acting.

Heechul crawls into Shiwon's bed that night and Shiwon wraps his arms around him immediately, holding him close. He cries into Shiwon's shirt and Shiwon stays quiet, waiting for him to stop. Finally his sobs dissolve into quiet sniffles and Shiwon whispers, "I know." It suddenly dawns on Heechul that he isn't the only one affected by the distance, the separation.

He burrows closer.

For tonight, he is in Beijing, and Shiwon is in Beijing. They hold each other close and, for a few hours at least, are able to fight off the distance.

I would actually think that is the funniest shit ever

When they tell them that they will be releasing a mini-album in 2010 after all, Yunho's eyes light up and Changmin's narrow.

"How?" Yunho asks. Hopeful. Curious.

"How?" Changmin echoes. Skeptical. Suspicious.

The manager gulps, somewhat intimidated by the way Changmin is almost glaring at him but not. "Well, it's very simple. You'll do a couple duets, have a couple of feature artists, and it'll just be the same old same old."

Yunho's expression crumples and Changmin's hardens. The manager tells them to think it over - there's going to be an official meeting to discuss the details tomorrow - and leaves in a rush. He doesn't want to be around when the implications of what he's just said finally sinks in.

Changmin brushes his gums bloody that night and breaks a few glasses. Yunho stays up late reading (and re-reading) the packet of proposals for concepts and songs and everything else involved in preparing for a new release.

"What did you think?" Changmin asks him in the morning, preparing them both two mugs of coffee.

Yunho rubs at his eyes, muffling a yawn behind the back of his hand. "I don't know what I think. I guess we'll see how the meeting goes."

The meeting goes about as well as can be expected. Nobody mentions Jaejoong, Yoochun, or Junsu, but their presence looms in the thoughts of all the executives seated around the boardroom table.

Changmin is the first to ask, "What are we going to be releasing this under?" His tone is neutral, almost polite.

Nobody dares to say a word, until Lee Sooman stands and answers for them. "It's been decided that the mini-album will be released under 'Dong Bang Shin Ki.'"

He looks tired, resigned, but his tone is firm and leaves no room for argument. Changmin and Yunho glance at each other briefly. The meeting goes on, a new item added to the list of forbidden words on everyone's mind: Cassiopeia.

It is a grueling five months. As hard as SM Entertainment works them, they've always been given plenty of time to prepare for new releases. There is a standard that must be upheld, especially when it comes to Dong Bang Shin Ki's music, but the goal for 2010 is "Year of SME" and they haven't any time to waste before the end of year awards ceremonies.

"We're the last group to release anything this year." Yunho's gotten good at stating the obvious for no obvious reason at all. Changmin supposes it's because there's not much else to say. Not much else he can say.

"Cheon Sang Ji Hee are doing well," he adds.

Yunho squeezes his hand, gives him a smile as he tugs him on stage. It's their turn to step up to the platform, for rehearsal.

Changmin catches sight of the first "Always Keep the Faith" sign and feels a lump forming in his throat. Suddenly, he isn't sure how they're going to do this. Even after five months of recording and rehearsing and reminding himself that the only standard they've got to live up is their own, he can't get rid of the nagging voice telling him they are nothing without Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu to support them.

But when he turns to Yunho, getting into position behind Gunyoung, expression confident and cool - ready for a dance battle - the anxiety washes away. Whatever the fans may think, they have prepared their best and he's ready to give everything he's got - he's ready to give himself.

a/n: inspired by conditionally's "Baby Blues"
dedicated to xiao_baka, cruel_disorder, chudley_cannon, haldir, and any other soshi fans on my flist just because

It isn't that Tiffany doesn't like children, it's more that Tiffany doesn't like surprises. She hates pranks due to the nature of their unpredictability. She can't stand plans being disrupted because it means time lost, opportunities wasted. And she will never understand the appeal of a surprise party. (What if the surprised person isn't properly dressed and winds up feeling out of place?)

No, Tiffany is not a fan of surprises, and children are nothing if not full of them.

Moving halfway across the world to pursue a nearly impossible dream is the most spontaneous thing Tiffany's ever done in her life, and she doesn't regret it a bit. But she knows she would definitely regret spending any more time with a child than absolutely necessary. More time spent with a child means additional opportunities for that child to surprise you with one of three things: drool, tears, and poop.

Tiffany hates drool, tears, and poop.

Then Tiffany meets Kyungsan, who gives her a different sort of surprise. He chooses her. He chooses her among eight other girls who have spent all day doting on him while she stayed back taking notes, preparing food, watching from a distance.

As Tiffany takes his little fist in her hand, she thinks maybe she could get used to a few more surprises in her life.

sometimes yakko wonders what things would have been like if he hadn't been born first.
dedicated to mytigerhobbes

yakko is the eldest, the frontman with the big brain and grand ideas. it's a position to be envied. after all, it is entirely to his credit that the warner siblings have survived this long and, without him, they would probably lead much duller lives. (there is a good chance that dr. scratch & sniff might have actually managed to cure them of their insanity.)

but sometimes, just every now and again, yakko tires of having that responsibility (to lead, to excite, to come up with all the witty comebacks) resting on his shoulders. sometimes, yakko wonders what things would have been like if he hadn't been born first.

what would it have been like to be wakko? completely thoughtless and without any obligations save a few smart remarks from time to time. life would have certainly been simpler. ... at least until their parents passed. come to think of it, with wakko around, he probably would have had to step up, anyway. who can trust a leader with his tongue constantly hanging out of his mouth?

and if he had been the baby? if he had had dot's position? it might be nice to be doted on, for once, but he's not sure he can take the idea of having dot as an older sister. fond of her position at the center of attention, there is a chance she would have tried to drown him shortly after birth.

no, yakko finally concludes. things are better this way. after all, who could really take his place?

Crazy Love lyrics by DBSK

It's foolish desperation and unfocused desire. Irrational and even more unpredictable. It goes against everything he's ever known, valued, and loved. It exists beyond the realm of respectability, new and unfamiliar, imperfect but beautiful.

Just like him.

It's a truth Changmin isn't sure he'll ever understand and (for the first time in his life) he doesn't feel the need to.

He knows it will hurt to walk away from his family, friends, an entire life laid out for him since he was born - but what can he do now that he's come too far to turn back?

So he runs up the stairs as fast as his feet will carry him, grateful that his long legs allow him to skip every other step along the way. His heart is beating so fast it feels like it could tear out of his chest. The pain is intense, dizzying, but not unlike the force driving him forward all this time.

Finally standing at the top of the World Trade Center, Seoul, he loosens his tie, rolls up his sleeves, cups his hands to his mouth and shouts for the world to hear: I love you! Kim Junsu, I love you!

Whatever anybody says, you're my crazy love.

overcoming the biggest obstacle: yourself
g, changmin x yoona

One month later, Changmin is taking shots with Jaejoong over ddeokbokgi, wondering where he went wrong with his brilliant plan.
a/n: for _ochre

Changmin's never been one for hesitation or second-guessing. All he knows is determination and completion - set a goal and carry it out. But such things are sometimes easier said than done, especially when it comes to the enigma that is women.

Despite his limited experience with dating, he likes to think that he has girls figured out. They all want the same thing in the end - to be appreciated. Why else would anyone stick around, if they weren't appreciated?

The problem is that Changmin doesn't know how to show his appreciation. His first girlfriend dumped him for ignoring her. His second girlfriend dumped him for smothering her. But he's determined that the third time will be the charm. Especially when said charm's name is Im Yoona, the single most pretty girl he's ever laid eyes on.

It ought to be easy this time around. He's done his homework. Hours spent observing two of his best friends have given him all the knowledge he needs to both get the girl and keep her.

First, he'll approach her and strike up an interesting conversation over the book she might be reading, the bag she might be wearing, or maybe a pedestrian who might be passing. Next, he'll ask for her contact information and they'll hang out, become friends. Then he'll ask her out on a date wherein he will sweep her off her feet with a fancy dinner and a moonlit walk on the beach. Within a month, they ought to be official. Within a month, he should have saved enough for a set of couple rings.

One month later, Changmin is taking shots with Jaejoong over ddeokbokgi, wondering where he went wrong with his brilliant plan.

"I did everything right!" he insists, around a rather large bite. "I don't know why we haven't moved past the friends stage. I keep asking her to go out and she keeps inviting other people along."

"Do you think it could be because she doesn't like you?" Jaejoong asks, as tactful as ever. Changmin's pointed glare only elicits a small shrug. Jaejoong is obviously less interested in Changmin's love life than he is in who's footing the bill. "Just saying. Where'd you invite her to this last time?"

"I keep having to change my plans. I want to surprise her with the dinner, so I tell her we're going bowling. Then she asks if she can bring a friend and suddenly it's bowling night and I have to cancel my reservations." Changmin slams his drink down, looking more than a little upset. "Why doesn't she want to spend time alone with me?" he whines.

"Because you're kind of creepy when you smile?" Jaejoong supplies.

Changmin carefully pushes his plate aside, then proceeds to repeatedly slam his head against the table. His only consolation is that the impact sends Jaejoong's half-finished meal into his lap.

Jaejoong is mad at him, Junsu is incompetent, Yoochun wants him to figure it out by himself, and Yunho is abroad. Some help his friends are, Changmin thinks bitterly as he contemplates Yoona's display name on his phone.

He could call her. He should call her. But then what would he say? He hasn't exactly got a reason to meet up with her, other than to ask her out, but isn't it easier to ask over the phone? Or is it just rude, too impersonal? He isn't sure.

It takes him ten minutes to push the talk button. The three seconds spent waiting for her to answer are agonizing.

"Hello?" comes her voice on the other line.

Changmin swallows. "Hey... It's, uh, Changmin."

"Oh! Hi, Changmin. What's up?" she asks, voice bright and bubbly as ever. It helps relieve some of his stress.

"Not much, really. Listen, can we... meet up? There's something I want to talk to you about."

"Sure, of course. When and where?"

"The park bench across the street from the cafe we like? Ten minutes?"

"All right. I'll see you then!"

He only needs five minutes to walk to the park bench, but Changmin spends the five minutes before that steeling his nerves. Since when did she make him so nervous? Determination and completion, he tells himself. He's set the goal, he just has to carry it out.

When he arrives, she's already there. Changmin taps her shoulder as he comes up. She turns, hair whipping over her shoulders, and bows at the 90 degree angle he always teases her for. Because he doesn't know what else to do, Changmin waves. And waves. And doesn't stop waving even though his hand is right in front of her face and probably making her very uncomfortable.

But if his smile really is as creepy as Jaejoong tells him it is, she doesn't let on. Rather than turning the other direction and running away, she takes his hand and asks him if he's eaten.

It's when he realizes she hasn't let go even after they've sat down that Changmin understands he's got nothing to be afraid of.

"Do you want to go to dinner with me? Just the two of us?"

"That'd be great."

"I LOVE LEE JINKI!" you shout, loudly, boldly.
a/n: a result of a conversation with naninande

Jinki is that embarrassing little guilty pleasure that you eventually realize you love just too much to be embarrassed by so, fuck it, the world must know.

"But why must the world know?" is what Jinki wants to know, as he clings to your hand and pleads with you to reconsider just what it is you're about to do.

You can't help but grin at how he's set his heels into the ground, body leaning back as he tries to keep you from your destination: the living room just beyond the kitchen doorway. But for all the times you've given into him - the first time being when you kissed him and decided "Okay, we can do this" - you are absolutely determined to have your way.

"I LOVE LEE JINKI!" you shout, loudly, boldly.

He is practically hyperventilating, hissing at you to, "Please, just shut up!"

But Minho, Kibum, and Taemin have all joined you now, crowding into the kitchen to see what all the ruckus is about.

"I love Lee Jinki!" you exclaim, grinning at them and ignoring the mortified look at on Jinki's face.

Kibum rolls his eyes, but smiles and smacks you on the shoulder. You smile back. He's known all along, and was the one to encourage you to do this in the first place.

Minho grins in his quiet way and pats Jinki on the back soothingly. He's probably known, too, but was polite enough never to tease you about it.

"Well, obviously," Taemin says, taking you only slightly by surprise. "Now maybe you should tell him." Kibum is going to pay for this later.

But the kid has a point. You turn and, giving Jinki a kiss to shake him out of his stupor, finally confess. "I love you, Lee Jinki."

It's worth it for the way his lips spread slowly into his patented silly grin, cheeks blushing red.
