Master Post I was very lucky to receive
aparanoid_angel as my artist. She picked one of my favorite scenes to illustrate and I seriously had hearts for eyes when I first opened it.
The image is quite large so please click on the image for the full size.
She reaches behind her back and pulls out a sword that glimmers in the moonlight. "This is for you, Patrick. Keep it safe and it will slay anything it strikes. Be careful to slay the right creatures, however. It does kill the innocent, of course."
Patrick's mouth drops as he lays his eyes on the weapon and holds his hand out to accept the sword, admiring the craftsmanship. It strangely doesn't feel heavy at all despite its size.
"What do you have for me?" Pete asks skeptically, his eyes focused on the sword. He isn't sure there is anything Greta could offer her that Pete would be able to wield. He isn't very weapon savvy, and he's pretty sure that Patrick isn't either. Why the world is dependent on them rather than on people that actually knew how to fight is beyond his knowledge.
"You get a bow and arrow," she states, her hand reaching behind her back to show Pete the longbow complete with a quiver of arrows. "The arrows will never run out no matter how many you waste. May your aim always be true."
This is exactly as I pictured Greta, and I absolutely adored the detail on the sword and the bow and arrows. Thank you so much,
aparanoid_angel! You really made this scene come to life and I couldn't have wished for a better piece.
