I hate sony cameras JUST because of the memory sticks.. though I love some of their cameras. SDs are just so much easier to manage due to Dell Laptops have that little slot you can stick into.
My favourite would have to be the Canon you mentioned, since my sisters have their own each... The Casio one sounds good only for the manual options, but otherwise it doesn't seem good D:>
Yeah, everyone I know and their mothers have Canon digital cameras. And I dunno... I half hope that the Casio one will be able to turn out good pictures with the sheer amount of customization (although I don't know what half the settings do so that worries me 9w9;;).
I use a Canon PowerShot A620, which has full-manual modes. It's a bit big to put in your pocket, but somehow the size makes it feel more "solid," so I feel safer when I hold it. It's 7.1 megapixels, but I only take pictures on its M2 mode--2048X1536-- which works fine for me, because when I resize the pictures... I really don't see that much noise.
The viewfinder flips and rotates, so when I'm taking tricky angles I don't have to crouch undertables-- I just need to turn the viewfinger to my direction. It's relatively fast when it comes to turning on and taking pictures. I think it's around two seconds...? I've almost dropped this poor thing about eight times, and it's made impact twice. No dents or scratches, and it's fine.
The picture modes are pretty cool since you can do color-swapping. The macro is nice. There's also manual focus. I have't tried the video mode yet, but I'm pretty sure it has sound. The camera is relatively affordable. I think I got it for around $270. I think. Uh.
A friend of mine had the older version of that camera... I'm glad they slimmed it down @w@;. My old camera has a rotating lens and while it helped, I don't really miss it. The color-swapping and stuff looks really cool... but then I realize I would never use it because I like having true-to-life originals and do all of the fancy editing on my computer later (I don't even take black and white pictures when they're all I need--I take them in color then make them grayscale on my computer).
Although a lot of Canons are sold through Dell, which usually has some CRAZY coupons available, so it's veeeerry tempting @W@;;.
Yeah, the IXUS 65 looks good... but it's all shiny and new and expensive x____x;;;. I'm mostly looking at last year's models, to help keep the price down (though now Canon has that image stabilization system... fiddlesticks!!).
Your camera DOES look nice @w@;;... but I already have a Nikon SLR camera (R.I.P. to Nikon's film SLR department ;O;), so I don't want to go that big for a digital camera, especially since it won't be able to compare with the quality of traditional film.
I have the Canon A620.. You could go through www.pricegrabber.com to get the cheapest priced ones. Beachcamera.com usuually has the cheapest, and the good thing is they deliver from NJ so if you just get the flat free shipping rate, it'll get to you in 2 or 3 days!
i have the canon a520. good images, a little slow, but i like how it uses aa batteries. has enough manual options and video with sound. i got mine from beachcamera.com (at riza's house actually), and it's a really good site. cheap and fast shipping.
