Obi-Wan
He knows it's wrong.
Jealousy is a sign of attachment. Attachment leads, ultimately, to the Dark Side. But when he sees Anakin's eyes light up at the sight of Padmé's message, he can't help feeling a sick twist deep in the pit of his stomach.
What's worse is that he knows it's completely irrational. Anakin may still be infatuated, but Padmé has enough sense for both of them. His suspicions only point to his own attachment, his own jealousy.
So when Anakin goes into the small cabin to listen to the message in private, he forces himself to say nothing.
Padmé
Anakin may be her husband -- but she only gets him to herself for a night or two every few months. In between visits, she can only wait and worry and hope.
Meanwhile, he spends nearly every waking moment in the field with Obi-Wan. And though she knows that it's irrational to be jealous of them while they're in a battle zone, the feeling keeps sneaking back when she's not looking.
So when Anakin ends his latest message with the traditional "Obi-Wan sends his greetings," is it any wonder that she feels like throwing it the reader across the room?
