For a long moment, Norrington stares at him, eyes blank and uncomprehending. Gently, Jack takes the brush from his cold, bloodied hands and pulls him to his feet. Leads him to one of the jolly-boats, where he's stowed provisions and a few other things he thinks they might need.
"We'll both need to man the oars to make it," he says, as he wraps clean strips of cloth around Norrington's bloodied hands. He only hopes that the other man isn't as broken as he seems. "I'm sorry."
Norrington raises his head, looks Jack in the eyes. "Better rowing than scrubbing."
