2. Whatever They Say

The first one he admitted this disgusting truth to was his one and only soul mate, Park Yoochun. It took a bit of pulling and bargaining on Yoochun’s part, but Jaejoong admitted to it:
“I think I might like Jung Yunho a little more than a favorite hoobae.”
Even then, Jaejoong wasn’t being completely honest, but Yoochun didn’t want to break out the soju at four in the afternoon.
“What’s wrong with that, hyung?”
“Yoochun, are we talking about the same person?!” Jaejoong sighed in frustration. “He’s nineteen. I’m forty-three.”
Park Yoochun, one of the most desired CF actors and drama leads, looked straight into his beloved band mate’s eyes. Jaejoong stared back and traced the other’s face with his eyes in an attempt to look away. The years had treated Yoochun well. The lines did nothing to take away from the man’s refreshing image.
“Do you remember a couple years after we debuted we were on a show?” Yoochun asked softly. Jaejoong looked down at his hands. “A young man and an older woman got on stage and we were questioned what their relationship was.”
Jaejoong shifted to the side to he was no longer facing Yoochun but his friend grabbed the nearest shoulder and pushed him forward again.
“You said they were a couple and you were right. Remember what you said afterwards, Jaejoong-hyung?” Yoochun asked, forcing the older man to look him in the eye. “Love knows no boundaries.”
Jaejoong stared into those wise eyes of his friend and sighed. He tried one more feeble attempt but in his heart, he knew Yoochun had trumped him.
“But…”
“No buts hyung,” Yoochun responded, smugly realizing the same truth. “I believe you have an awards show to host for this month and I think he’s going to be there, isn’t he?”
Jaejoong nodded and smiled shyly at his soul mate. Truth to be told, he wouldn’t have taken the job otherwise.
