A few weeks ago I scored a ten volume set of The Wonders of Science and Modern Life, printed in 1912. A load of geek laughs; but what's really interesting is their entry on climate change. I've been arguing with a global warming denier who is, sadly, a relative, so I've been doing a lot of research on this subject... I doubt that this book would do much to sway him, but I'm still interested in tracking it down. Which volume has the global warming stuff in it? (Here's Volume VII at Google Books...)

Volume 9. Of course, what they knew about ionizing radiation in 1912 that was correct wouldn't fill a postcard; but it seems that atmospheric warming isn't as new an idea as one might think.
