"Merry Christmas! Here, come look," she shows him the picture. It's from the side but it's pretty decent. Candids can be difficult but they are Ellie's favorite pictures to take.

"Cool. You should take all my photos. Mum made us pose in front of the Christmas Tree for her Christmas cards to the cousins we don't see very often, and I looked super weird." He pulls an exaggerated manic face to demonstrate.

"Posed photos can be fine. But in my experience whenever parents take posed photos they always look weird." Ellie said.

"But they keep trying," Bolly grumps. "Is Tommy here too?"

"He is! He was in the kicthen last I saw, harassing the caterers." Not so much harassing as watching and asking a lot of questions and offering suggestions.

"Have you tried the food? They're really good," Bolly enthuses. "The spring rolls are amazing."

"The food is good. Did they get a new caterer, I don't remember the food being so good last year."

Bolly shakes his head. "It wasn't. These guys are much better. Miss Frida's going to book them next year too."

"Well she definitely should hire them again. Best food I've ever had at one these parties. I didn't try the Spring Rolls though. I need to go grab one."

"I had a tray of--" He looks around in confusion. "Oh. I guess Miss Frida and I already ate all of those. I'm sure there are still some at the food tables, though." Probably. Possibly.
