"Heard anything good yet?" Alfie always has higher expectations for these parties but he just got told off for flirting with a waiter. So...He'll see if Bolly is doing anything interesting.

"I don't know man, knowing the truth just hurts sometimes," he said. "Like all the stuff they say about Pop. Maybe he did all those terrible things to Keke and other people. But look, they were out there dancing five minutes ago. And I can't square what they say about him with the Pop I know. I refuse to see him that way so I don't want to know. He's who he is now, isn't that more important?"

"Yeah. Dad says, nobody is just one thing, and to judge people by what they do." He nods solemnly. That his dad was talking about this in context of screenwriting doesn't seem a necessary detail.
