If that's his attitude tell him the truth. Not only have you changed for the better your so generous- you'll allow him the ability for him to make up for his mistake and apologise to you.

If not, I hear furnature can be used as a blunt weapon. I recomend a Victorian chair as it has nice jagged edges.
