Supposed player Jessica asks out lesbian Sunny.
A/N: For
unnideul Post 5 Maybe if we both lived in a different world, yeah
(Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer, womanizer)
It would be all good and maybe I could be your girl
But I can't, 'cause we don't, you!
Britney Spears, “Womanizer”
Being the only open lesbian at your school meant a lot of things. It meant sneers and insults, jokes and pranks. It meant having to put up with men offering to “cure” you with their dicks and a mom and dad who would shake their head wearily at you, waiting for the day you left this so called “phase.” It meant being feared by other women and the ones that didn’t? they looked to you as some sort of adviser for their confused sexuality. It meant being used as a tool for those who wanted to experiment.
By the second year after she came out, Sunny has learned to stop caring.
“Go out with me.”
Timing and setting are always interesting things to notice when it comes to confessions. Sunny is used to being approached by other woman after school in empty classrooms or behind the gym, secrecy being the biggest priority.
Sunny will at least give her props for asking during lunch. She looks up from her half eaten sandwich and portable handheld gaming system to examine the woman before her.
She’s pretty, Sunny notes, a beautiful cliché even, with hair like silk and skin smooth like porcelain. But Sunny doesn’t care for statues if all they are is empty on the inside.
“No.”
The other girl frowns. “And why not?”
Sunny looks at her like she’s stupid. “You’re straight.”
“And how do you know that?” The girl looks affronted by the statement.
“You re Jessica Jung. I’m sure even you’re aware what others say about you.”
“You can’t believe everything you hear.”
“What about see? Should I not believe that either?”
Anger sparks in Jessica’s eyes and suddenly her demeanor becomes frosty. “Fine. It’s your loss. You don’t know what you’re missing.”
Sunny chuckles darkly, the sound low in her throat. “I’m sure I do. Sex with you must be amazing. The softness of your skin, you’re rather delectable breasts, those lips…”
Sunny leans in and whispers into Jessica’s ear. “But I can’t forget the image of all those men you left behind you, strewn about like garbage. I’m not going to be another one of your toys.”
Jessica shoves her away and for a moment Sunny thinks she's going to get slapped. But then Jessica storms away without another word.
Sunny thinks she almost saw tears building at the corner of Jessica's eyes and the thought leaves her feeling more guilty than she should. Her stomach turns at the thought of Jessica crying and she sighs as she packs up her lunch.
---
Sunny doesn’t find her until after school, and by then Jessica's already with a new boyfriend. Sunny almost debates turning around from the sight of the two kissing in the parking lot, but it doesn’t lessen the fact that she had still acted more vindictively than normal.
She walks up to the two, not caring that it’s kind of strange to do so when they're so attached but she wasn’t going to wait around letting the guilt fester unnecessarily in her chest.
She coughs and the two separate. Sunny doesn' t spare a moment for them to question her interruption and she looks directly at Jessica.
“Look, I want to apologize for being such a bitch the other day. I’m sorry.”
She promptly turns, doesn’t care if Jessica accepts it or not, and leaves.
Behind her she can hear the boy ask in a confused voice.
“What was that about?”
“I don’t know,” is Jessica’s reply and Sunny allows her self to accept it as the truth.
---
Jessica's new boytoy doesn't even last two days after Sunny's apology and by then, Sunny's already put the girl out of her mind. It's no surprise to her that the guy was dumped and to be honest, no one in the school cared so much to blink an eye either.
Jessica dating and dumping people is a common thing. Jessica dumping people and not dating immediately afterwards, even going as far as to turn down others, that is not common in the slightest.

Tifany is beautiful in the unfortunate way, easy to be loved and oblivious most of the time to said love. To love Tiffany is to resign oneself to unrequited feelings.
Sunny has been there. Luckily she made sure to nip it in the bud before it got too far because liking straight girls never went well tor her.
It wasn’t too difficult seeing as how they didn’t talk on a daily basis, but she still curses that weaker part of herself that causes her heartbeat to quicken when Tiffany steps in front of her wanting to talk to her for the first time. And the displeased expression on her face scares her more than it should.
Because she’s over her and nothing Tiffany says or does should affect her.
Tiffany points a finger in Sunny’s face. “What ever you did to Jessi, fix it.” She pauses. “Please.”
Sunny blinks as Titfany walks away. Suddenly she has a funny feeling this was what Jessica felt the day she apologized.
---
This time Sunny is the one who finds her during lunch. The two don’t say anything to each other but Sunny sits down next to her.
Neither speak at first, though they both know why they're there.
The silence persists for a bit before Jessica speaks.
“Hypothetically, if there was someone who loved easily and wanted to be in love, what should they do?”
It’s a question but seems rhetorical. Sunny hums to show she’s listening and Jessica barrels on.
“Date, right? But is it really that simple? What if she was unable to love the person she dated fully? What should she do then? Break up with them, right? And then what? Date again. And again and again. Keep on dating with the hope that they will find the 'one'. Keep on dating until everyone thinks that person is a nothing but a player some no good slut. But that’s the real question, isn’t it? Is that person really a player?”
Sunny lets the words swim through her thoughts. It's a lot to suddenly take in and she feels guilt at giving in to the mindless hate like so many others. Just because she has suffered the same doesn't mean she's free to be a hypocrite. She takes a deep breath and says her next words carefully.
“So that’s why you asked me out? Because you thought if boys didn’t do it for you you’d try girls?”
Jessica shakes her head. “No. It’s not that.”
“Then why?”
“Because I wanted to get to know you better.”
“And why would you want to do that?”
“Because you interested me.” Sincerity glistens in Jessica's eyes and Sunny almost has trouble keeping up with everything Jessica is saying.
“Me?”
“You are the subject of rumors as much as I am, but you don't seem to let it get to you. That interested me.”
Sunny blinks and pauses to think, letting her eyes run over Jessica slowly. Jessica laughs nervously at the attention. "What is it?"
Sunny sighs and extends her hand.
“Hello, I'm Lee Soonkyu.”
Jessica stares at the hand with question before grasping it lightly, the smile that lights up on her face is hopeful and so so beautiful.
“Jung Sooyeon.”
