The characters appeared in a room. 12' by 18', simple white walls, wooden floors, no windows, no doors, one little light bulb. They tried everything they could think of; breaking walls, Kali turning the walls to water, but any damage they caused just "rewound" until it was gone. Finally, Scylla used Echo Dream to look into the past, and saw a man sitting on the floor reading a book. He looked up, and then appeared to the other characters.
He introduced himself as Billy Pilgrim, and said that he had been trapped in the room for a long time. He was speaking to them from 2000, and promised to look them up in their time, if he was still alive. After 30 minutes, the characters reappeared in the crack house they were investigating. When they got home, they found a letter from Billy with a phone number. Scylla talked to him and he told them that the room could draw them back no matter where they were. It kept victims for double the time every stay. He said he'd been there as long as two years of subjective time, but he'd used his magic to keep himself alive. Scylla grimly realized that werewolves wouldn't last anything like that long; one Death Rage and it would all be over.
That night, she dreamed of a river. She was swept along and saw a waterfall, into which many other similar rivers emptied. Most people screamed as they went over, but she saw Billy, and he just calmly went with it...but then she saw him back in the river, going over again. Using her lucid dreaming skills, she dammed the river and was able to escape. It seemed, then, that if she could stop the curse for a short time, she and her pack could escape it...but how to dam time itself?
In the morning, Kali tracked down Billy Pilgrim and found that he belonged to a cabal in Cleveland (if he sounds familiar, you might have seen him
here) and was Mysterium. He talked with her on the phone, but didn't seem to trust her. He had mentioned to Scylla that if Kali had already gone to New Orleans, she was dangerous to herself and those around her (that one-shot, BTW, is tomorrow).
The pack met and decided to find a powerful time-spirit. They decided that Independence Hall, where the Declaration was signed, would be a good place. They found a locus nearby with the Harmony pack's help (it being their territory), and found a spirit on the Hall's steps whose suit faded from modern to 40s to turn of the century to Revolution. The spirit looked at them and told them that Kali wasn't welcome - she was a murderer. Werewolves were above American law, being citizens of the Hisil as well (a kind of diplomatic immunity, as far as this spirit was concerned), but Kali had to leave. Phil used Banish Human to shunt her back to the physical world, and she left the area, confused and perhaps a bit hurt.
Next session, we see if the time-spirit can help them.
