The Customer Service Spectrum
Well, I had two experiences on opposite ends of the customer service spectrum tonight.
Steve and I went to eat at Steak 'n Shake tonight. They were fairly busy so they had the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign out. So, Steve and I stood there and waited. We noted that there were at least four or five empty tables. We saw about four waitresses flying ( Read more... ) -
Random thoughts
So far, I've tried to keep my blog away from too much "my daily life" type of stuff, instead preferring to focus on more "informative" and "useful" things. Unfortunately, that's left me with little to write about, so perhaps I'll broaden the scope more.

NaNoWriMo
I just signed up for NaNoWriMo. Basically, November is National Novel Writing Month. NaNoWriMo is a project geared towards facilitating this event. The goal for those who participate is to write a 50,000+ word novel from start to finish between November 1 and November 30. Think it's insane? Curaçao
I just got back from a week trip to Curaçao, where I attended the 32nd Scientific Meeting of the AMLC. It was an awesome time: I got to meet a lot of people, to become acquainted with a lot of new marine science-related ideas (new to me, at least), and to spend time in an awesome Caribbean country.

Boundin' and The Incredibles
Last night I got to see The Incredibles and the bonus short Boundin' that plays before it. So I figured I'd do the "I'm clueless when it comes to movies but I'll pretend to have a qualified opinion about one anyway" game. ;)
