I know that I am not generally supposed to be a mouthy, superior sounding, sarcastic brat.

But for the love of little green men, why is it that the people are -are- getting laid are so very, very profoundly stupid about it?

Because they're stupid. qcontinuum May 23 2003, 07:07:17 UTC
Parochial, close-minded, little twits, actually. And a damn good thing for both their species that no one has picked *them* as the exemplars to test.

Though... I may run an intervention. I don't have to be testing *humanity* to run tests on individuals...

I am going to get _such_ a lecture from agreeing with you over this, I know it.

But -please-.

Nothing - nothing! is more boring and annoying than people that are supposed to be adults acting like teenagers.

I should know, having been a teenager not all that long ago.

Oh, and by the way. qcontinuum May 23 2003, 07:11:57 UTC
There's nothing wrong with being a mouthy, superior sounding, sarcastic brat, if you have the intellect and superiority to back it up. It actually makes you much more interesting than, for example, a mealy-mouthed, hero-worshipping, golly-gee-whiz-cap'n teenybopper.

And people who try to pull age rank to explain why their stupidity should not be taken seriously are unbelievably irritating. No one should *ever* resort to "because I'm older than you." (Well, except to their children, in which case it's about as effective as "Because I'm your father and I said so," which is to say, it's not effective at all.)

I never said "Golly-Gee-Whiz."

...

I didn't! Really!

No. But you thought it. qcontinuum May 23 2003, 07:15:07 UTC
But then, I'll give you a free pass on the golly-gee-whizzishness if you give me one on the making Riker a Q thing.

Obviously, one can be a blithering idiot even *if* one is several billion years old.

He made a truly unspectacular Q.

Did you -see- what he thought I would look like at the age I am now? I was.. all..

okay, it was just not right. I was like, mini-Riker. And my hair was so, so, so bad.

I like Will and all, most of the time. But I don't want to look like him.

Why didn't you make, like, Captain Picard a Q? or Data? (You have to admit, Data would have made a really funny Q.)

I don't know. Amanda told me that romance novels *don't* reflect the reality of human romantic relationships.

...Little green men? I feel ignorant...
