About you
My name is: Anjelica
Gender: Lady
Because we do respect the lj code here, are you over 13?: Yes, I'm 18!
How has your day been so far? (Just curious): It was pretty good, thanks! I welcomed the new year with my family, which meant I was mostly puppy-sitting.
More about you
What are your hobbies/talents/interests?: Singing, playing piano, music in general, drawing, writing, nature, animals, the ocean, Amnesty International (and human rights in general), literature, films, films, and more films, philosophy, bicycling, video games, laughter. I aspire to be a musician or, more realistically but still quite idealistic, a screenplay writer for films (a dream I realized partially thanks to Wes Anderson).
Give us 5 positive adjectives to describe yourself: Creative, intelligent, passionate, whimsical, funny.
Give us 5 negative adjectives to describe yourself: (Socially) awkward, stubborn, detached, anxious, and just a little lonely.
And what do you think your best quality is?: My humor, empathy, and polite nature.
And what is your worst?: My awkward social skills.
What do you think draws other people to you?: I'm a very mellow person, not a lot phases me usually. It takes a lot for me to get angry. I listen well without just waiting for my turn to speak.
Your favorites
Books: The Catcher in the Rye, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, The Metamorphosis, The Road, The Weetzie Bat Books, Stargirl, the Harry Potter series, His Dark Materials, and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.
Movies: My favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Hayao Miyazaki and Michel Gondry, so pretty much anything they've made. Excluding Anderson films: Pulp Fiction, Garden State, Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2, Fight Club, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pan's Labyrinth, Once.
Music/bands: Radiohead, The Decemberists, The Flaming Lips, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles.
Animals: Giraffes, bats, lions, whales, peacocks, and any sort of dog or cat.
Quotes/sayings/lyrics:
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and common sense."
- Buddha
"Limitless, undying love which shines around me like a million suns,
It calls me on and on, across the universe
Nothing's gonna change my world."
- John Lennon in "Across the Universe"
"It isn’t fair: the caterpillar does all the work, and the butterfly gets all the glory."
- George Carlin
Are you more...
Introverted or extroverted: Introverted, though I can be very friendly. I just can't handle big groups for very long, I need to be alone.
Confident or shy: Quietly confident - I'm a bit shy about boasting. I am a little timid when I first meet people, though.
Kind or selfish: Kind.
Optimistic or pessimistic: Optimistic, or better yet, idealistic.
Mature or immature: Mature if I have to be, but I have a very silly side.
A leader or a follower: A modest leader, but really I’m more of a loner. I wouldn’t follow blindly but I’d have no problem complying with a competent leader. Or co-leading with someone, whatever works.
Impulsive or cautious: Always impulsive.
Disorganized or systematic: Organized in my own, messy way. I know where everything is in my room, for instance, but no one else would be able to look past the mess.
Wes Anderson
First Wes Anderson movie you saw? Did you like it then?: I first saw The Darjeeling Limited and absolutely fell in love. I was thrilled at finding a director who shared my sense of humor completely. And the soundtrack, ohmygod.
Favorite Anderson movie?: This one's tough. It's either The Royal Tenenbaums, which i have and will watch twice in one day, or The Darjeeling Limited. Rushmore comes in at a VERY close second; I've only seen it once, so I probably like it more than I think. And Fantastic Mr. Fox was amazing. I can't choose one. :/
Least favorite Anderson movie?: Well I haven't seen Bottle Rocket yet. So I'll cheat and choose that.
Favorite character from an Anderson movie?: Either Max Fischer or Richie Tenenbaum.
If you could magically become one character out of an Anderson film for one day, who would you want to be?: Max Fischer. I love that kid so much. If only I had his motivation!
Would you prefer a same gender stamp or all that's listed?: All that's listed, please!
Anything else you feel like adding while you're at it?: I'm an INFP if that helps anyone. Very happy this community was made. And thanks for reading and voting!
