Anything BUT Easy

So I've had an E-Z pass toll transponder for forever it seems. Well, at least since the 1990's. It's super convenient; there is a box the size of a deck of playing cards which sticks to your car windshield and tolls are deducted from your credit card or checking account as you pass through electronic readers. It works in fourteen states and in some ( Read more... )

now that you are a customer we no longer want to take your calls. while we appreciate your money, we really don't on the whole like you. I mean let's be honest can I go to Miami on vacation on you? Can I waste you on frivolous spending and unimproved highways? I didnt think so.

have a nice day. (like I care)

I suppose the foil is recycled to make hats for Tea Party members.

The foil actually serves a purpose, to keep the transponder from registering when it's driven through a toll booth in a USPS mail truck. But you may be right about how it's recycled.

I work in customer service. I would have been seething at the inefficiency demonstrated by the NJ agency not to mention the downright incorrect information they are putting out. There are definitely some serious failings with management if their website is that difficult to navigate and wrong to boot.

As with most companies, they have made it far easier if you wish to buy a product/service rather than terminate it. You did the smart end-around though. I am glad my company does not put customers through this kind of hoopla. If a customer calls us there is no voicemail loop to suffer through, you get a rep instantly. All our reps are trained to handle any type of call (new order, return, complaint, etc) and the company handles thousands of calls a day. I get instantly irritated anymore if I call somewhere and have to start pushing buttons in an attempt to get to a real person.

Best wishes with the PA service. Sounds more up-to-date and convenient at least...

Yea, I find it curious that you can just sign up online with New Jersey, but they require a signed letter to discontinue the service. Funny how a signature isn't a requirement to get the service.

Thank goodness your employer is doing it right.
