Well I put off looking for a job for three days, and woke up today with the mentality of looking for one.  I also had to deposit my graduation money too before my bank account went dry ( Read more... )

"I suppose the theme in my life right now is change." - good man, i'm so proud
that being said you should chop your hair off, kick ass at your interview for blockbuster and look for your "real job" - only good things are waiting for you =)

and of course work on that novel of yours that i'm still waiting to read it's only been what ... over 2 years? =oP

haha but you're biased cuz you hate my braids :P

and "blondie long legs?" i could go back to THAT if u prefer and think itll get me hired ;)

and as for the novel, I started writing it Halloween 1997 and finished writing it February of 1999. I remember talking to you when I was going to UCF in Florida while I edited it that year, so it's been way longer than 2 years :P

The braids are your street credentials, chopping that off is like chopping off your arm. Blockbuster is a bullshit chump-change job for survival, so don't worry about treating it all serious-like. There's a million chump jobs out there, but only one Wes Ide. Keep it real holmes.

And take it from me: I recently floundered out of college, piss-broke and jobless, and had to move back with my parents for 6 months. Did it suck ass? Yes. Did I save a bunch of money and then move into a pimping palace without roomates? Hell yeah!!
There are some advantages in every situation if you look for them.

if anything, just take the braids out and go with long hair tied back. you can always get your hair rebraided after you get the job. but dont go as far as cutting them off.

good riddance to braids? kooshball503 February 12 2005, 00:54:59 UTC
I worked at Blockbuster the summer after I graduated high school...the free rentals were a DEF. plus :) I was recently looking at the pictures on your website and I like the short hair/no braids...but its not really about what I like...I'd say go with the braids to the interview, its a problem for them tell them you are willing to take them out like u said. :) Good luck with your interview!!

P.S. I wanna read your book.
