Rachel came into the hotel with a box under her arm. She was working to understand a few things, and today, well, that thing was board games. She slipped past a couple of sleeping grunts and settled quietly on the floor, taking the board and the pieces out of the box then laying them out in a straight line

Today it would seem, Rachel wasn't the only one with a curious and imaginative streak. Tucked behind the safety of a large potted palm tree the small blonde observer liked what she saw. Games. People. Something normal that would happen in her world. And she'd been carefully edging her way closer for the last few minutes, jumping from one temporary hiding place to the next until...

“What are you doing?” She asked curiously, watching the older woman try to play what looked like a very complicated game.

"Can I play?"

Rachel had not lifted her head to watch the little girl sneaking up on her; she'd been making sure the grunts didn't wake up. When the girl was brave enough to actually talk to her though, she turned her head and grinned "Boo."

What? She thought it was funny?

"Sure! Do you know how to play?"

"No." Shaking her head truthfully, Eve skirted the game zone, eyes always, always on Rachel.

"What's your name?"

"Well, that's a problem. I don't know how to play either." Rachel admitted, poking some of the pieces into a new pattern.

"I'm Rachel, and you're new here!"

"You're supposed to have more people," Amber offers helpfully.

"Well, there weren't any nearby!" Rachel countered cheerfully. "Do you have to have people at every spot or can you play with fewer?" Because obviously Amber was the game guru!

"I dunno, what is it?"

She kneels and checks out the box.

"Says you can do two players."

"It's the one with dice instead of cards." Rachel informed her simply. Yep, that was the extent of her knowledge! "Not the one with little houses and hotels because people get upset when they play that one."
