There was a relatively loud THUMP on the front door of the hotel, as if something in the vicinity of sixty-five pounds had landed solidly on it. Then came the knocking. A persistent, sharp noise for several minutes

Flashing lights and cheering chirps of amusement. He wasn't the only youngster to be lured in by the room and it's complex trickery , but at least he seemed happy about it. Eve was confused. The buttons and machines all around screamed at her. Some admittedly looked fun, but no matter how many buttons she pressed, it was as if they were not for her fingers to push.
Maybe it was for the boy in a holloween costume. She hadn't seen him at first, but his voice gave him away. "This isn't anyones office... I don't think."
Said boy in a costume was standing on top of one of the machines, busily peering behind the slots. What? TOTALLY NORMAL BEHAVIOR!

Her attention breaks from the spinning images briefly at the new arrival, and for several moments she has trouble trying to figure out what's more interesting- gambling, or a small, curious human in a mask.
Said small curious human in a mask (with antennae!) was staring at the winged girl! Really, he'd seen winged girls before, like that annoying American Eagle who was always campaigning, but this girl was cool. "You've got claws and stuff don't you?"

No, wait.
"Are you a human?"
