Cordelia
"I have a vision," Cordelia announced, pacing up and down her throne chamber. Well, that was what she'd been calling it, anyway. In reality it was probably the Pylean equivalent of a conference room.
...With a throne, yes.
"Actually," she amended with a nod toward one of the, er... former priests. "I have two visions. And in one of them, you get to keep your head."
Charming girl, really.
Priest
"How may I be of service, your majesty?"
Funny how the threat of decapitation made a guy hop to.
Cordelia
"Take a memo," Cordy said dismissively. "As it is now written," she dictated, "all citizens are created equal. Slavery and religious persecution are outlawed." She waited for him to finish writing, then added, "You might want to look into getting that framed. Or put in a book somewhere."
Looking very pleased with herself, she turned to the rest of the group. "That it?"
Wesley
"Sounds fairly thorough," Wesley said helpfully. "Which I suppose just leaves us with the final issue of getting home."
So... maybe Tara and Fred had made some progress? He hoped?
Tara
"We think we did it," Tara said. "We ... need a book from the priests so we can tell where we're going, but the portals open just fine."
Cordelia and Fred
"These books?" Cordy asked, holding up a few that had conveniently been lingering around.
"Yuh-huh," Fred said with a nod.
"They're all yours," Cordy said, passing them over.
Priest
"Those are sacred books!" the priest interrupted, scandalized.
...
"Which you should have. As a small memento."
He really liked his head attached, see.
Wesley
"Right, then," Wesley said with a clap of his hands and a nod toward the door. "Shall we?"
God, it was going to be good to get out of here.
Kennedy
Kennedy had come down off the battle high by now, and was back to her usual... well, less hotheaded self.
She looked a little bit uncomfortable, actually, for reasons that had nothing to do with the battle. Just-- portal spells. They were still a thing.
"Yeah," she agreed after the briefest hesitation, her eyes flicking toward Fred and Tara before she nodded. This wasn't going to be like that, right? No unexpected Duracell duty? "I'm so ready to get home."
