Well done!   When people tell you they're sure, or have the answers to these questions, they're revealed as having missed some of the deep problems with each theory.

There comes I find, a certain dilemma with the over analyzing of history with regards to deity. The analytical/over-logical has a hard time dealing with idiosyncrasies of the spirit. And when love and logic combine, especially if there's an enforced concept of justice... that's a recipe for a disaster.

The other point to consider is that, with any truth--there are varying degrees of perception. What may work in private practice to varying degrees shouldn't be introduced in the public arena... likewise the public perception may or may not be included in private practice depending on how one chooses to incorporate that with the blessings of the deities.
